2、t for MS22002-1 for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. 1.1 This commercial item description covers a separable steel connector link, of conventional type, used by U.S. Army riggers to connect a parachutists risers to parachute canopy suspension lines. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The connector links shall confor
3、m to the following types (see 3.2.1 and 7.1). 2.1 Tme. Type I - Screw, slotted Type II - Screw, cross recessed 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Materials, Materials shall be of the high quality used by the manufacturer in his standard commercial products for parachute hardware, provided that the comp
4、leted item complies with all provisions of this document (see 5.1). 6、tor link legs will be identical and interchangeable and manufactured of heat treated alloy steel. 3.1.2 Screws. The screws shall be identical and interchangeable and manufactured of heat treated steel. 3.2 Desian and construction. The design and construction of the connector links shall conform in a
7、ll respects to the require- ments specified herein. (see 5.1) . 3.2.1 Assemblv. One complete rectangular shaped link shall consist.of two L shaped legs fastened together with two screws. The Type I link shall have two legs assembled with two slotted head screws. The Type II link shall have two legs
8、assembled with two cross recessed head screws. The screws shall have a minimum of six (6) full turns when fully assembled, and hand tightened. 3.2.2 Dimensions. The nominal overall length shall be 2.34 in., by 1.19 in. nominal overall width, with a 1.5 in. nominal inside width between the legs. 3.2.
9、3 Threads. The screw threads for the legs shall be 10-40 UNS-2B. The screw threads for the screws shall be 10-40 UNS-SA. 3.2.4 Heat treatinq. The legs and screws shall be heat treated to the required tensile strength to meet the proof load. 3.2.5 Proof load. When subjected to a uniformly distributed
10、 pull force perpendicular to the long side of each leg, the connector link shall withstand a minimum proof load of 3,000 pounds. There shall be no permanent deformation and the screws shall be able to be loosened and reseated manually. 3.3 Finish. All surfaces shall be smooth with no burrs or sharp
11、edges. 12、 Cleanliness. The connector links shall be clean and free of dirt, grease or lubricants, with no signs of rust or discolora- tion. 13、 finished connector links shall conform to the quality of product established by this document for parachute hardware. The occurrence of any defects shall not exceed the contractors own quality assurance standards defined by the technical data in the bid package. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 The
14、offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). intended production to be analyzed and evaluated by the Government. The bid sample will consist of units independently devel
15、oped. Evaluation criteria and basis of award are contained in the solicitation. Government. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Contractor Certification. The
17、contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and
18、is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5.2 Metric txoduct. Products manufactured to metric
19、 dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this commercial item description are met. If a produc
20、t is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. 3 Provided

The item offered must have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government, and the contractor shall certify and provide sup
22、porting documentation as to the serviceability and the long term (one year) availability of all necessary maintenance and logistics support parts and materials. 5.4 Warranty. If applicable, the item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market. 6. PACKAGING. 6.1 Preserv
23、ation and Packinq. Preservation and packing shall be commercial preservation and packing in accordance with ASTM D 3951 or as specified in the contract or purchase order. 6.2 Palletization. When specified (see 7.1) the connector links shall be palletized in accordance with ASTM D 4649 and ASTM D 467
24、5. 6.3 Markinq. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, unit packs, shipping containers and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with ASTM D 3951. 7.
