2、description (CID), for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers three sizes of parking brake cable and conduit assemblies with loop-type button end fittings. The cable and conduit assembly is capable of withstanding a load of 910 kilograms (Kg). 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Materials. Unle
3、ss otherwise specified herein, the materials used shall be in accordance with the manufacturers specifications/drawings utilized in the manufacture of products that parallel the functions of the items covered by this CID. The use of recovered materials is acceptable providing that all requirements o
4、f CID are met (see 5.5). 2.2 Design and construction. Unless otherwise specified herein and in figure 1, the parking brake-loop type cable and conduit assembly with button end fittings shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the manufacturers specifications/drawings. 2.3 Plating. Unless
5、 otherwise specified, all steel parts shall be zinc plated in accordance with ASTM B633, minimum thickness of plating is 12 micrometers. 2.4 Grease. Conduit shall be packed at assembly with grease. The grease shall be lubricant type and unless otherwise specified (see 5.2) shall withstand temperatur
6、e of -54 degrees Celsius (OC). Each cable and conduit assembly shall be pre-stretched under a load of 454 kg. The cable assembly shall be capable of withstanding a load of
10、910 kg. sustained for a period of two hours with a maximum permissible slippage of each end fitting with respect to the cable of 0.4 millimeter (mm). With load applied, the cable outer sheath shall not show any lateral displacement or permanent deformation of conduit. The outside diameters of condui
11、t coils shall remain in-line. 2.6 Identification markings. Identification markings shall be permanent and legible and shall include, as a minimum, the manufacturers CAGE code and part number, and the part identification number (PIN) (see figure 1 and 5.3). 3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 3.1 Respon
12、sibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests). 3.2 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item d
13、escription and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality assurance practices. Item with known defects shall not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to th
14、e first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4. PRESERVATION, PACKAGING, PACKING, LABELING, AND MARKING. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking for the desired level shall be as specified in the contract (see 5.2). 5. NOTES.
