4、ies. The complete requirements for procuring couplings described herein shall consist of this document and the latest issue in effect of A-A-59326. 1. SCOPE. This specification sheet covers an External Pipe Thread by Female Cam-locking type Reducer, Type XIII, to be used in conjunction with fittings

5、 having an internal pipe thread and/or male type cam locking coupling halves. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The size of the reducers if designated in table I. TABLE I. Reducer size. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The following characteristics may differ from those listed in the latest issue of A-A-59

7、326. 3.1 Accessories. The coupling shall be supplied with pull rings and gasket. 3.2 Threads. The coupling threads shall conform to National Tapered Pipe Thread per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1. 3.3 Hydrostatic test pressure. The 1-inch through 4-inch couplings shall withstand a hydrostatic test pressure of 30

8、0 pounds per square inch gage (psig). The 6-inch, 75 psi rated couplings shall withstand a hydrostatic test pressure of 150 psig. The 6-inch, 150 psi rated couplings shall withstand a minimum hydrostatic test pressure of 225 psig. 3.4 Working pressure. The -inch through 4-inch couplings shall be rat

9、ed for 150 pounds per square inch working pressure. 11、lowing PIN procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. This example describes a part numbering system for specification sheet A-A-59326/14 AA59326/14-4-A-1; where /14 indicates a External Pipe Thread by Female cam-lock Reducer, -4 indicates a 6-inch

12、 threaded end by 4 inch cam locking end, -A indicates an Aluminum body and -1 indicates a style 1 coupling. Material: A - Aluminum Alloy B - Copper Alloy (Brass or Bronze) BA - Aluminum Bronze SS - Stainless Steel Style 1 - Style 1 couplings do not require the incorporation of a positive locking mec

13、hanism to lock the cam arms in the closed position but the cam arms shall stay in the closed position when the coupling halves are assembled. Style 2 - Style 2 couplings shall incorporate a positive locking mechanism to lock the cam arms in the closed position when the coupling halves are assembled.

14、 The locking mechanism shall be manually released (the release doesnt have to stay in the released position) before the cam arms can be moved to the open position.
