When specified (see 6.2), a guide sample shall be furnished for guidance and information only. and the specification, the latter shall govern. The first 3.3 Materials. Materials shall conform to the reference
12、d specifications and the requirements specified herein. 3.3.1 Yarn. 3.3.1.1 Cotton stuffer yarn. The stuffer yarn for the core of the braid shall be 4/4 natural or bleached cotton yarn. 3.3.1.2 Metallic yarn. The metallic yarn shall be a silver color mylar plied with a white nylon yarn, approximatel
13、y 420 denier and shall be submitted to the contracting officer for approval prior to fabrication (see 6.2 and 6.3). 3.3.2 Thread. Thread for stitching shall conform to type A3, ticket No. 60, 3 ply of V-T-276, and shall match the shade and color of the metallic yarn. Clear polyester thread of equal

The design of the aiguillette shall be as shown on drawing 5-2-81. 3.5 Construction. The aiguillette shall be constructed in accordance with the details and dimensions specifi
18、ed on drawing 5-2-81 and the requirements specif- ied herein. 3.5.1 Braid. Individual braids used to fabricate the aiguillette shall be ap- proximately 3/16 inch in diameter and shall consist of twelve (12) ends of stuffer yarn specified in 3.3.1.1. The cover shall be braided on a 32 carrier machine
19、 two ends per carrier with not less than 12 picks per inch in a two over, two under braid. 3.5.2 Shoulder piece. The shoulder piece shall be 1-1/8 inches flat braid using metallic yarns specified in 3.3.1.2 except that the warp yarns shall be a silver color cotton yarn matching Silver Gray HAM, Cabl
20、e No. 67137. The shoulder piece shall be of sufficient length to allow a 1 inch, plus or minus 1/16 inch turn under at each end and a free length of 2-1/2 inches, plus or minus 1/8 inch between the plaited sections of cord, after attachment of the loops. 3.5.3 Plaiting. four-cord unbalanced design,
