6、mel may be used in lieu of epoxy for -1. If hard cloisonn enamel is used, the required base material for -1 is Gilding Metal 95/5 (UNS Alloy Number C-210). ATTACHING DEVICES: ATTACHING DEVICE FOR PENDANT AND SUSPENSION WREATH: -2 must be secured to -1 by a hinge joint. The hinge will be 1/8 inch 1/6
7、4 inch long on either side by 3/32 inch 1/64 inch wide (see illustration below). The hinge must be hard soldered to the vertical center line of -2 1/32 inch + 1/64 inch 0 up from its bottommost point. The arm for the hinge joint is integral to -1, and is 3/32 inch 1/64 inch high by 1/32 inch 1/64 in
8、ch wide by 3/32 inch 1/64 inch deep. ATTACHING DEVICE FOR PENDANT AND NECKBAND: The suspension ring through which the neckband passes must be made of Red Brass 85/15 (UNS Alloy Number C-230) and conform to the dimensions specified below. The pendant ring will be hard soldered to the reverse of -2 as
9、 shown below, and in such a way that it is not visible when viewing the assembled decorations obverse. 10、 of MIL-DTL-3943, except that the manufacturer may deviate from this drawing by increasing the finished length of the neckband to 26 inches + 1/2 inch - 0. DECORATION CASE: The decoration set will consist of a neckband with pendant and suspension wreath (assembled), a service ribbon with ribbon atta

The following shall be inscribed on the
12、top of the decoration case using three lines: (1) PUBLIC SAFETY (2) OFFICERS (3) MEDAL OF VALOR. NOTES: 1. The term (REF) refers to the measurements taken from the obverse Government furnished hub or die. 2. For -1 and -2, the manufacturer may deviate from MIL-DTL-3943 by using nickel underplating p
13、rior to plating with 24K gold. 3. The specification slash sheet for the neckband and service ribbon is MIL-DTL-11589/572. 4.
