This specification is approved for use by the Mobility Equipment Research and Development Command, Department of the Army, and is available

2、for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1, SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification defines the requirements for the mine clearing roller system retrofit kit (M60 series tank). 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications and standards. Unless other

3、wise specified (see 6.21, the following specifications and standards of the issue listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicitation, form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. Requirements for

14、 the retrofit kit shall be in accordance with Top Assembly, TA13222E0025 and as specified herein. 3.1.1 Drawings. Nonfunctional sharp edges, projecting points, and excessive length of fastening devices shall be avoided. 3.6 Interchangeability. All parts having the same part number shall be I

The portions of the kit normally painted sha

22、ll be cleaned, treated, and painted in accordance with MIL-T-704, type A, color forest green. MIL-T-704 shall be insulated as specified. Nonpermissible galvanic couples (dissimilar metals) as defined in 3.8 Identification marking. The kit shall be identified in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.9 Workm

Each kit shall be clean and free from sand, dirt, fins, pits, scale, rust, burrs, sharp edges, cracks, poor or unsound welds, or any other defects that could impair its installation/utilization. 3.9.1 Metal fabrication. Metal used in fabrication shall be free from rust and corrosion. steel,

Inspect all welds with dye penetrant in

32、 accordance with MIL-1-6866. No cracks are permissible. Workmanship specimens required by the applicable specifications shall be approved by quality assurance representatives of the contracting activity. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified (s

33、ee 6.21, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. Inspection records and examinations a

34、nd tests performed by the contractor shall be kept complete and available to the Government for a period of 4 years following completion of the contract. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to

35、 assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Except as otherwise specified (see 6.21, the contractor may 4.1.1 Component and material inspection. 44、ling for examination and tests shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 4.4.2 Examination. 4.4.2.1 Samples. Samples selected in accordance with 4.4.1 shall be examined for the major and minor defects specified in column 3 of table I. Quality Level (AQL) shall be 2.5 percent defective for major defect

45、s and 4.0 percent defective for minor defects. Acceptable 4.4.3 Tests. 4.4.3.1 Samples. Samples selected in accordance with 4.4.1 shall be subjected to the test specified in column 3 of table II. shall be cause for rejection.
