SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers two sizes of lightweight nylon r
2、ope cargo-net slings capable of carrying a 2000-pound load by helicopter. 1.2 Classification. The sling shall be square with square meshes. Slings shall be of the following nominal sizes, as specified (see 6.2): Size 1 - 8 feet x 8 feet. Size 2 - 10 feet x 10 feet. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The fo

REQUIRJ3MJ3NTS 3.1 Description, The sling shall be as specified herein. The sling shall be flat with square-shaped nylon rope mesh
9、es and shall have a seized bight at each corner of the frame, 3.2 First article (preproduction model). The supplier shall furnish one or more slings as specified (see 6.2) for examination and testing within the time frame specified (see 6,2) to prove prior to starting production that his production
10、methods will produce slings that comply with the requirements of this specification. 11、plier subject to surveillance and approval by the Government (see 6.3). When specified (see 6.2), the Government will conduct any or all of the preproduction examination and test, as specified (see 6.2). 3.3 Material. Material shall be as specified herein and shall be new and unused. and shall be su
12、bject to all provisions of this specification. Materials not specified shall be selected by the supplier 3.3.1 Nylontrope. Nylon rope shall conform to MIL-R-17343, with the Rope used for the exception that the rope shall be heat set. Rope used for construction of the meshes shall be 1-1/8 inches in
13、circumference, construction of the border and bights shall be 2-1/4 inches in circum- f erence. 3.3.2 Nylon cord. Nylon cord shall conform to MIL-C-5040, Type I. 3.4 Capacities. 3.4.1 Safe working load. The safe working-load (swl) of the sling shall be 2000 pounds. 3.4.2 Proof load. When subjected t
14、o a proof load of twice the swl specified in 3.4.1, the sling shall show no evidence of broken strands or rope, seizing, or splices pulling out. Q 3.5 Construction. 3.5.1 Meshes. Size of mesh shall be 6 inches square, plus or minus 1/2 inch. zontal mesh rope under one strand of the vertical mesh rop

A bight shall be made from the border rope by forming the loop a
18、t each corner of the net. The loop, when stretched to its maximum, shall be 4 feet long. and seized together, using nylon cord specified in 3.3.2, by taking a minimum of 15 turns on the,inner seizing and a minimum of 14 turns on the outer seizing. 19、5.4 Splices. Splices shall be tight and each tuck shall be pulled Care shall be taken up snugly. Slings shall be identified in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.7 Workmanship
20、. Rope and cord shall be sound and free from severed, twisted, kinked, or tom yarns or strands. Seizing shall be free of loose or insufficient rounds and shall be secure. loose or insufficient tucks. Splices shall be free of 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless o
21、therwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the perform- ance of all inspection requirements specified herein. specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection require- me
22、nts specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Govern- ment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Except as otherwise 4.1.1 C

The supplier is responsible for insuring that components and materials used are manufactured, examined and tested in accordance with referenced specifications and standards. 4.2 Classification of inspections. Inspections shall be classified as follows : (a) Preprodu
24、ction inspection (see 4.3). (b) (c) Inspection of preparation for delivery (see 4.6). Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4 Licensed by Information Handling Services4.3,1 Examination. The sling shall be examined as specified in 4.5.1. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejectio
25、n, 4,3,2 Test, The sling shall be tested as specified in 4.5.2, Failure of the test shall be cause for rejection. 4,4 Quality conformance inspection. 4,4.1 Sampling. Sampling for examination and tests shall be in accord- ance with MIL-STD-105, 4.4.2 Examination. Samples selected in accordance with 4
26、.4,i shall be examined as specified in 4,5.1. major defects and 6.5 percent defective for the minor defect AQL shall be 2,5 percent defective for 4.4.3 Test. Samples selected in accordance with 4,4.1 shall be tested as specified in 4,5,2. AQL shall be 2.5 percent defective. 4,5 Inspection procedure.

PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation and packaging, Preservation and packaging shall be Level A.or C, as specified (see 6,2). 5,1,1 Level.Ao Each sling, with the corner loops folded
33、 toward the center of the sling, shall be folded or rolled to form a compact bundle, The bundle shall be secured with cotton tape or twine, shall be preserved in accordance with MIL-P-116, Method IC-3. Slings shall be packed to assure carrier acceptance and safe delivery to destination at lowest ratings in compliance with Uniform Freight Classi
37、fication rules or National Motor Freight Classifi- cation rules. 5.3 Marking, Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 6, NOTES 6,l Intended use. Slings are intended for helicopter use in trans- porting 2000 pounds or less of cargo. 6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the
38、 following: (a) Title, number and date of this specification, (b) Size of sling required (see 1,2). (c) Time frame required for submission of preproduction model and number of slings required (see 3.2), (d) When the Government will conduct any or all of the prepro- duction model examination and test
