In the past , Mil i tary Standard 188 (MIL-STD-188) covering mil i tary communications system technical standards, has evolved, from a document applicable to all militar

6、y communications (MIL-STD-188, MIL-STD-188A and MIL-STD-188B) to one applicable to tactical communications only (MIL-STD-188C). 2. The Defense Communications Agency (DCA). has published DCA Circulars (DCAC) promulgating standards and criteria applicable to the Defense Communications System (DCS) and

7、 to the technical support of the National Mi 1 i tary Command System (NMCS). 3. Standards for all military communications are now being published as part of a MIL-STD-188 series of documents. Military communications system technical standards are subdivided into common long haul/tactical stand- ards

8、 (MIL-STD-188-100 series), tactical- standards (MIL-STB-188-200 series) and long haul standards (MIL-STD-188-300 series). Appendix B contains a list of MIL-STD-188-100 and MIL-STD-188-200 series documents that are currently in preparation. 4. This document contains technical standards and design obj

9、ectives for tactical communications equipment, subsystems and systems. These standards and design objectives have been based n corresponding parameter values contained in MIL-STD-188-100, but this document differs in its out1 ine from MIL-STD-188-100 and covers in more detai 1 those areas applicable

10、 to tactical communications. 5. This document supersedes MIL-STD-l88C, including Change Notices 1 and 2, with the exception of paragraphs 6.2 and 6.3 .and subparagraphs 4.5.6 through 4.5.11. Standards and design objectives. for analog telephone sets and analog facsimile equipment contained in paragr

11、aphs 6.2 and 6.3, respectively, and standards and design objectives for radio equipment and radio subsystems contained in 4.5.6 through 4.5.11 of MIL-STD-188C are being updated and will be published in other documents of the MIL-STD-188 series.
