19、ples, test materials, test equipment and test procedures shall comply with the current health and safety regulations/laws of the countries where the test is carried out. Where equipment, materials and/or reagents which may be hazardous to health are specified, appropriate precautions in conformity w
20、ith local regulations/laws shall be taken. Particular attention shall be paid to the health and safety requirements applicable to ionising radiation (y and X-ray). 5 Principle The method requires the use of X- or gamma-radiography for flaw detection purposes, using film or real time techniques, appl
21、icable to the inspection of metallic materials. See EN 444. 6 Testing requirements 6.1 Reco u rcec The resources shall be appropriate for fixed installation or portable system used on-site. 6.1 .I Equipmenplant X-ray source(s) and Gamma-ray source) performance parameters appropriate to the material

25、Qualification of personnel Testing to the requirements of this test method shall only be undertaken andlor supervised by NDT personnel, qualified and approved in accordance with the requirements of EN 4179. 6.2 Test samples The test sample shall be the casting ; or group of castings if specified by
26、the testing procedure. 6.3 Testing procedure All inspection shall be carried out in accordance with written instructions approved by the purchaser. The inspection procedure) covered by the written instructions shall comply with the requirements of EN 444. Additional reference samples to verify the s
27、ensitivity of the inspection may be required. The B class image quality shall be used according to EN 462-3. The geometric unsharpness shall be less than 0,15 mm. 6.4 Expression of results Flaws in the casting or group of castings and reference samples shall be verified in accordance with the requir
28、ed level of resolution. Flaws shall be classified by comparison with the reference radiographs given in ASTM E155-95, ASTM El92-95, ASTM E242-95, ASTM E446-93 or ASTM E1320-95 as applicable unless otherwise stated in the technical or material standard, drawing or order. The location of the flaws in
29、the casting or group of castings shall be marked by suitable means, e.g. on the item or by means of a sketch. 7 Inspection report All results shall be written form and the test report shall include, when relevant, at least the following information: - reference to this test method; - reference to th
30、e written instruction; - any other information relevant to the test method, (e.g. test condition, test equipment, test procedure, verification, .); - identification and traceability of the casting to be tested in accordance with the technical specification or drawing; - results; - date of inspection; - traceability to individuals performing and approving the test work; - any incident which may have affected the results; - any deviation from the test method standard.
