It shall be used in conjunction with EN2098-1 which states the general requirements for in

14、and detrimental segregation. Acceptance standards for segregation shall be agreed between manufacturer and purchaser. Samples shall be selected at the following frequency : 4.1.1 Bars for further working A transverse slice shall be taken from locations representing the top and bottom of each ingot i
15、n each cast. If forging stock is supplied in cut pieces, each piece shall be etched and examined. 4.1.2 Bars for machining and extruded sections a) The inspector shall at a convenient stage select a sample corresponding to the top of each ingot. Subsequently he shall select samples of full cross sec
16、tion, from the material at the following frequency : - Material less than 20 mm diameter or minor sectional dimension : from one end of 10% of the bars or sections in each batch. - Material 20 mm up to less than 100 mm diameter or minor sectional dimension : from one end of 50% of the bars and secti
17、ons in each batch. - Material 100 mm or greater diameter or minor sectional dimension : b) As an alternative and at the option of the manufacturer, the inspector shall select samples of full cross-section from each end of each bar or section. from each end of each bar or section. c) Blade blanks. 18、ch end of each blank shall be etched and examined. 4.2 Titanium alloys If an etch test is required the procedure and standards of acceptance shall be agreed between the manufacturer and the purchaser and shall be stated on the drawing, order or inspection and testing schedule. 5 RETESTS 5.1 Macro et
19、ch test for bars for further working If a bar fails to meet the required standard, the inspector shall allow the manufacturer to redress, or cut back and to test in accordance with the requirements of clause 4.1.1 or 4.2. 5.2 Macro etch test for bars for machining and extruded sections If any sample
20、 fails to comply with the standard of acceptance, the related end of that bar or section shall be re-dressed or cut back and retested in accordance with clause 4.1.2 or 4.2. Additionally if samples were selected at a frequency of less than 100% all the remaining bars or sections in the heat treatmen
21、t batch represented shall be tested. 5.3 Additional requirements For designated applications the purchaser may require rejection of any bar where the cut-back has exceeded 50%. If more than 50% of a batch has to be rejected the disposition of the remainder shall be agreed between manufacturer and pu
