7、 testing of remelting stock intended to be used for the production of castings and of castings in titanium and titanium alloys unless otherwise stated on the drawing, order or inspection schedule. Particular requirements are defined in EN 2545-2 and EN 2545-3. Scope and field of application This sta
8、ndard shall be applied in conjunction with EN material standards unless otherwise specified on the drawing, order or inspection schedule. By agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser it may also be applied to other materials or delivery conditions not covered by EN standards, The agreemen

13、.4 Parent cast A cast of remelting stock to be used for the production of castings. 3.5 Remelting stock Metal supplied in cast or wrought form, the composition of which has established by chemical analysis. 3.6 Casting A part manufactured by vacuum arc remelting (VAR) or electron beam me (EBM) . 3.7
14、 Pre-production castings been ti ng Castings produced to a particular design which qualify the method of manufacture and mould configuration and demonstrate that the requirements of the purchaser can be met. 3.8. Batches 3.8.1 Batch of re-melting stock It shall consist of re-melting stock of the sam
15、e form, the same nominal dimensions and from the same parent-cast, 3.8.2 Batch of castings It shall consist of castings of the same part number, coming from the same melting operation for EBM process or from the same electrode without alteration of the melting conditions for VAR process. They have b
16、een submitted together to hot isostatic pressing and, if applicable, to heat treatment. 3.8.3 Batch of scrap It shall consist of materials of the same type (see 4.21, of the same chemical composition and, if appropriate, submitted to the same conditioning operations. 3.9 Inspection schedule See EN 2
17、078. o 3.10 Manufacturing schedule See EN 2078. 3.11 Inspection and testing report See EN 2078. 4 Quality assurance 4.1 General See EN 2000. 4.2 Scrap approval Scrap shall be : - prepared according to a procedure approved by the purchaser. The procedure shall include verification of chemical composi
18、tion, freedom from contamination and the absence of foreign material. - approved by : . the scrap purchaser, . . the purchaser of remelting stock electrodes (VAR process), or the purchaser of the castings (EBM process). Additional requirements are given in EN 2545-2 and in EN 2545-3. 5 Manufacture 5
19、.1 The method of melting shall be in accordance with EN 2545-2 or EN 2545-3, 5.2 The details of manufacture shall be recorded in the manufacturing schedule. o 5.3 When a manufacturing schedule has been agreed, no change shall be made without the written approval of the purchaser, 5.4 Unless otherwis
20、e agreed . and stated on the drawing, order and/or manufacturing schedule, the product shall be delivered in the heat treatment condition specified in the material standard. h CEN PREN82545 (PT*L)*ED*L 93 3404589 0035970 4 fi- 550 prEN 2545-1 Page 6 - 3.5 5.5 If a specific temperature (value and tol
21、erance) is stated, that temperature shall be mandatory. If a temperature range is stated, a temperature within that range, reduced by the furnace tolerances, shall be selected to give the required properties. Unless otherwise specified, the furnace charge shall be maintained at the temperature subje
22、ct to the following tolerances in table 1, for the period stated. Remelting stock shall be traceable to its
23、charge. 7 Freedom from defects All remelting stock and castings shall be free from harmful defects. Not withstanding previous acceptance complying with this standard any remelting stock or casting found, at a later stage., to contain such defects may be rejected. 8 Testing The tests required by the
24、material standard, order, inspection schedule or drawing, shall be made in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate test standard, If a test standard does not exist, the method to be.used shall be agreed between the manufacturer and the purchaser. Unless otherwise stated on the drawing or
25、 inspection schedule, the frequency of testing shall be as specified in EN 2545-2 or EN 2545-3. The location of test samples shall be as indicated on the drawing or inspection schedule. The test samples and associated test pieces shall be marked in such a manner as to ensure that their identity and
26、location with respect to the product and the batch is maintained. The method of an
27、alysis shall be selected by the manufacturer but in case of dispute, the method set out in the relevant IS0 standard shall be used. If no IS0 standard exists, a fundamental method of chemical analysis shall be used. Elements not specified in the material standard shall not be added without the agree
28、ment of the purchaser. 8.2 Mechanical testing Preparation of test samples and test pieces : 8.2.1 Where appropriate, test samples shall be heat treated in accordance with the material standard requirements of use for the heat treatment. 8.2.2 The mechanical test specimens shall be machined in the he
29、at treatment condition of use in accordance with the requirements of the applicable EN standard. Their surface shall be absolutely free from contamination. 8.2.3 The strain rate up to the proof stress shall be within the range of 0,3 %/min to 0,7 %/min. In case of dispute a strain rate of 0,5 %/min
30、shall be used. After proof stress the speed may be increased up to 5 %/min or such that failure occurs within approximately 1 min. 8.3 Special tests Special tests and inspections may be required by the purchaser (e.g. micro and macro structure examination). In such cases, after agreement between the
31、 purchaser and the manufacturer, nature of test, methods, frequency, acceptance criteria and the re-test procedure shall be specified on the order, drawing or inspection schedul e, 8.4 Re-tests If any requirement is not met, re-tests shall be carried out under the following conditions : If the test
32、procedure or test piece preparation is faulty, testing shall be re-appled at the original frequency after identification of the failure cause. When failure cannot be attributed to faulty test procedure or test piece preparation, further test samples shall be selected at twice the original frequency.
33、 At least one of the samples shall be taken from the product or products on which the non-conforming results were obtained (unless al ready withdrawn by the manufacturer after suitable identification of the cause of failure). 34、 results are satisfactory, the batch shall be accepted. If one or more results are unsatisfactory, the batch shall be : - rejected, or - re-heat treated and tested as a new batch, except for chemical compos and radiographic examination, 8.5 Re-heat treatment ti on With the exception of stress reliev
35、ing no product or test sample shall be re-heat treated more than two times without the agreement of the purchaser. 9 Marking See : - - EN 2545-3 for castings. The frequency of examination adopted by the manufacturer shall be sufficient to permit him to certify compliance with the requirements. EN 25
36、45-2 for remelting stock, 10 Acceptance If required the manufacturer shall inform the purchaser or his chosen agent of the planned dates for the extraction of samples and acceptance testing in order that these operations may be witn,essed. 11 Inspection and test report The manufacturer shall furnish
37、 with each delivery, an inspection and test report conforming to the requirements of EN 2078, and stating the following : manufacturers name and address, order number, material standard number, drawing or part or product number, quantity, melt, parent cast and/or batch number( s) , nie1 ti ng proces
38、s, casting process, condition of the material as delivered, batch and/or test samples heat treatment data if appropriate, results of all tests, retests and chemical analysis, inspectors stamp. 39、recautions shall be taken to prevent damage and corrosion during transport. The exterior of the packing shall bear the following information : - name of purchaser, - mass, - order number and sufficient information to enable package contents ta be related to the relevant documentation. 13 Wording of
40、orders Orders shall clearly indicate : O quantities to be supplied, date (s) of delivery, material standard number, delivery condition of the material, dimensions of re-melting stock or casting number or its drawing number with the re1 want i ssue number, i f appl icabl e, number of the inspection s
