Inthe case of conflict between a requirement of the productspecification or a requirement of this general requirementsspecification and a more stringent requirement of the purchaseorder, the purchase order shall prevail.1.3 The va

9、lues stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, theSI units are shown in brackets. Ordering Information5.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary

Such requirements to be consideredinclude, but are not limited to, the following:5.1.1 Quantity (feet, metres, or number of pieces),5.1.2 Name of material (stainless steel tubing),5.1.3 Method of manufacture, when applicable (seamless(SML), welded

Chemical Composition6.1 Chemical AnalysisSamples for chemical analysis, andmethod of analysis, shall be in accordance with Test Methods,Practices, and Terminology A 751.6.2 H

30、eat AnalysisAn analysis of each heat of steel shallbe made by the steel manufacturer to determine the percentagesof the elements specified. If secondary melting processes areemployed, the heat analysis shall be obtained from oneremelted ingot or the product of one remelted ingot of eachprimary melt.

31、 The chemical composition thus determined, orthat determined from a product analysis made by the tubularproduct manufacturer, shall conform to the requirements speci-fied in the product specification.6.2.1 For steels ordered under product specifications refer-encing this specification of general req

For this requirement, a grade is defined as an alloy

35、described individually and identified by its own UNS designa-tion in a table of chemical requirements within any specifica-tion listed within the scope as being covered by this specifi-cation.6.3 Product AnalysisProduct analysis requirements andoptions, if any, shall be as contained in the product s

36、pecifica-tion.7. Tensile Properties7.1 The material shall conform to the tensile propertyrequirements prescribed in the individual product specification.7.2 The yield strength, when specified, shall be determinedcorresponding to a permanent offset of 0.2 % of the gage lengthor to a total extension o

37、f 0.5 % of the gage length under load.7.3 If the percentage of elongation of any test specimen isless than that specified and any part of the fracture is more than34 in. 19.0 mm from the center of the gage length, asindicated by scribe marks on the specimen before testing, aretest shall be allowed.8

The mass of tubing made of ferritic stainless steelsmay be up to about 5 % less, and that made of austenitic stainless steel upto about 2 % greater than the values given. Mass o

40、f ferritic/austenitic(duplex) stainless steel will be intermediate to the mass of fully austeniticand fully ferritic stainless steel tubing.8.2 The permitted variations from the calculated mass perfoot kilogram per meter shall be as prescribed in Table 1.9. Permitted Variations in Wall Thickness9.1

41、Variations from the specified minimum wall thicknessshall not exceed the amounts prescribed in Table 2.9.2 For tubes 2 in. 50 mm and over in outside diameter and0.220 in. 5.6 mm and over in thickness, the variation in wallthickness in any one cross section of any one tube shall notexceed the followi

42、ng percentage of the actual mean wall at thesection. The actual mean wall is defined as the average of thethickest and thinnest wall in that section.Seamless tubes 610 %Welded tubes 65%9.3 When cold-finished tubes as ordered require wall thick-nesses34 in. 19.1 mm or over, or an inside diameter 60 %
