A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers Chromium-Molybdenum-Tungsten alloy steel plates intended pr

4、00 1.0092 9.00 0.45 1.75122 12.00 0.40 2.001.3 The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by thecapacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanicalproperty requirements.1.4 The specification is expressed in both inch-pound unitsand in SI units. However, unless the order specifies theap

5、plicable “M” specification designation (SI units), the mate-rial shall be furnished to inch-pound units.1.5 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be

6、used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.2. General Requirements3.1 Material supplied to this material specification shallcon

8、form to Specification A20/A20M. These requirements out-line the testing and retesting methods and procedures, permit-ted variations in dimensions and mass, quality and repair ofdefects, marking, loading, and ordering information.3.2 In addition to the basic requirements of thisspecification, certain

9、 supplementary requirements are availablewhen additional control, testing, or examination is required tomeet end use requirements. The purchaser is referred to thelisted supplementary requirements in this specification and tothe detailed requirements in Specification A20/A20M.3.3 If the requirements

10、 of this specification are in conflictwith the requirements of Specification A20/A20M, the require-ments of this specification shall prevail.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Steelmaking PracticeThe steel shall be killed.5. Heat Treatment5.1 Except as allowed by 5.2 and 5.3, all plates shall benormali

11、zed at 1900 to 1975F 1040 to 1080C. Plates forGrades 23, 92, and 122 shall be tempered at 1350 to 1470F730 to 800C. Grade 911 plates shall be tempered at 1365 to1435F 740 to 780C.5.2 If permitted by the purchaser, plates for Grades 23, 92,and 122 may be austenitized at 1900 to 1975F 1040 to1080C, su

12、bjected to accelerated cooling from the austenitiz-ing temperature by air blasting or liquid quenching, and thentempered at 1350 to 1470F 730 to 800C.5.3 Plates ordered without the heat treatment required byeither 5.1 or 5.2 shall be furnished in either the stress-relieved1This specification is unde

16、onform to the requirements for chemicalcomposition given in Table 1.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 Tension Test:7.1.1 The material as represented by the tension test speci-mens shall conform to the applicable requirements given inTable 2.7.2 Hardness Test:7.2.1 Grade 23 plates shall have a hardness not

17、 exceeding220 HB 97HRB.7.2.2 Grade 122 plates shall have a hardness not exceeding250 HB 25HRC.8. Marking8.1 In addition to the marking required in SpecificationA20/A20M, each plate shall be legibly stamped or stenciled,dependent upon the ordered thickness, with the letter “N” fornormalized and tempe

18、red, “Q” for accelerated cooled andtempered, “S” for stress relieved, or “A” for annealed, which-ever is applicable.9.
