Manufacture5.1 The tubes shall be made by the seamless or weldedprocess.5.2 At the manufacturers option, tubing may be furnishedeither hot finished or cold finished.6. Heat Treat
27、ment6.1 All material shall be furnished in the solution heat-treated condition. Except as provided in 6.2, the heat-treatmentprocedure shall consist of heating the material to a minimumtemperature or temperature range as specified for the grade inTable 2, followed by quenching in water or rapidly co

Alternatively, for seamless tubes, immediatelyfollowing hot forming while the temperature of the tubes is notless than the specified minimum solution treatmenttemperature, tubes may be individually quenched in water orrapidly cooled by other means.6.2 Controlled structural or sp

If the final heat treatment is at a temperature under1900 F 1040 C and is so specified on the order, each tubeshall be stenciled with the final heat treatment temperature indegrees Fahrenheit degrees Cels

When specified by the purchaser, a lowertemperature stabilization or re-solution anneal
31、 shall be usedsubsequent to the initial high temperature solution anneal (seeSupplementary Requirement S3).7. Chemical Composition7.1 The steel shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition as prescribed in Table 1.8. Product Analysis8.1 An analysis of either one billet or one length o
32、fflat-rolled stock or one tube shall be made from each heat. Thechemical composition thus determined shall conform to therequirements specified.8.2 A product analysis tolerance of Table number A1.1 inSpecification A480/A480M shall apply. The product analysistolerance is not applicable to the carbon
33、content for materialwith a specified maximum carbon of 0.04 % or less.8.3 If the original test for product analysis fails, retests oftwo additional billets, lengths of flat-rolled stock, or tubes shallbe made. Both retests for the elements in question shall meetthe requirements of the specification;
34、 otherwise all remainingmaterial in the heat or lot shall be rejected or, at the option ofthe producer, each billet, length of flat-rolled stock, or tubemay be individually tested for acceptance. Billets, lengths offlat-rolled stock, or tubes which do not meet the requirementsof the specification sh
