1、Designation: A 353/A 353M 04Standard Specification forPressure Vessel Plates, Alloy Steel, 9 Percent Nickel,Double-Normalized and Tempered1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A 353/A 353M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in

2、the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification2covers 9 % nickel steel plates,double-normalized and tempered,

3、intended particularly forwelded pressure vessels for cryogenic service.1.2 Plates produced under this specification are subject toimpact testing at 320F 195C or at such other tempera-tures as are agreed upon.1.3 The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by thecapacity of the material to meet t

4、he specific mechanicalproperty requirements; however, current mill practice normallylimits this material to 2 in. 50 mm max.1.4 This material is susceptible to magnetization. Use ofmagnets in handling after heat treatment should be avoided ifresidual magnetism would be detrimental to subsequent fabr
