These requirements out-line the testing and retesting methods and procedures, permit-ted variations in dimensions, and mass, quality and repair ofdefects, marking, loading, and ord

17、ge from 1050 to 1125F 565 to605C, hold within that temperature range for a minimum of1 h/in. 2.4 min/mm of thickness, but in no case less than 15min, and cool in air or water quench at a rate not less than300F/h 165C/h.5.2.4 If hot forming is performed after heating to a tempera-ture within the rang
18、e from 1650 to 1750F 900 to 955C thefirst normalizing treatment (5.2.1) may be omitted.5.2.5 When the plates are heat treated by the fabricator, itshall be the fabricators responsibility to apply the proper heattreatment and to conduct tests it deems necessary to ensure thatthe specified properties

Chemical Requirements6.1 The steel shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements shown in Table 1 unless otherwise modified inaccordance with Supplementary Requirement S17, VacuumCarbon-Deoxidized Steel, in Specification A20/A20M.7. Mechanical Requirements7.1 Tension Test Req
20、uirementsThe material as representedby the tension-test specimens shall conform to the require-ments specified in Table 2.7.1.1 Upon agreement between the purchaser and the manu-facturer, yield strength may be determined by the extensionunder load method, using 0.005 in./in. 0.005 mm/mm totalextensi
21、on.7.1.2 For nominal plate thicknesses of34 in. 20 mm andunder, the 112-in. 40-mm wide rectangular specimen may beused for the tension test and the elongation may be determinedin a 2-in. 50-mm gage length that includes the fracture andshows the greatest elongation.7.1.3 One tension test shall be tak
22、en from each plate as heattreated.7.2 Impact Test Requirements:7.2.1 Charpy V-notch impact tests shall be made in accor-dance with Specification A20/A20M.7.2.2 The longitudinal axis of the test specimens shall betransverse to the final rolling direction of the plate.7.2.3 Unless otherwise agreed, te
23、sts shall be conducted at320F 195C.7.2.4 Each test specimen shall have a lateral expansionopposite the notch of not less than 0.015 in. 0.381 mm.8. Finish8.1 Because retained scale may mask surface imperfections,as well as mar the plate surface, plates shall be descaled by theproducer after heat tre
