Grades42 290, 50 345, and 55 380 are intended for riveted, bolted, or welded structures. Grades 60 415 and 65
4、450 are intendedfor riveted or bolted construction of bridges, or for riveted, bolted, or welded construction in other applications.1.2 For applications, such as welded bridge construction, where notch toughness is important, notch toughness requirements areto be negotiated between the purchaser and
5、 the producer.1.3 Specification A588/A588M shall not be substituted for Specification A572/A572M without agreement between thepurchaser and the supplier.1.4 The use of columbium, vanadium, titanium, nitrogen, or combinations thereof, within the limitations noted in Section 5, isrequired; the selecti
6、on of type (1, 2, 3, or 5) is at the option of the producer, unless otherwise specified by the purchaser. General Requirements for Delivery3.1 Structural products furnished under this specification
30、 shall conform to the requirements of the current edition ofSpecification A6/A6M, for the specific structural product ordered, unless a conflict exists in which case this specification shallprevail.3.2 Coils are excluded from qualification to this specification until they are processed into a finish
31、ed structural product.Structural products produced from coil means structural products that have been cut to individual lengths from a coil. Theprocessor directly controls, or is responsible for, the operations involved in the processing of a coil into a finished structuralproduct. Such operations i
32、nclude decoiling, leveling or straightening, hot-forming or cold-forming (if applicable), cutting to length,testing, inspection, conditioning, heat treatment (if applicable), packaging, marking, loading for shipment, and certification.NOTE 1For structural products produced from coil and furnished wi
