Scope*1.1 This spec

3、ification establishes the requirements for copper-zinc-lead (leaded red brass or hardware bronze) rod, bar, andshapes of UNS Copper Alloy Nos. C31400, C31600, and C32000 available for general and screw machine applications.1.2 UnitsThe values Values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are

4、to be regarded separately as standard. Within thetext, SI units are shown in brackets. The values in each system aremay not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall beused independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the specification.

Material and Manufacture5.1 Material:5.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a form (cast billets, logs, or rods) of Copper

15、Alloy UNS Nos. C31400, C31600, orC32000 of such purity and soundness as to be suitable for processing into the products prescribed herein.5.2 Manufacture:5.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot working, cold working, straightening, and annealing processes as toproduce a uniform wrought s

16、tructure in the finished product.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the chemical composition requirements in Table 1 for the Copper Alloy UNS No. designationspecified in the ordering information.6.1.1 These composition limits do not preclude the presence of other elements. By a

17、greement between the manufacturer and thepurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required for unnamed elements.6.2 For alloys in which zinc is listed as the “remainder,” either copper or zinc may be taken as the difference between the sumof results of all other elements determined and 100

18、%. When copper is so determined, that difference value shall conform to therequirements given in Table 1.6.3 When all elements in Table 1 are determined, the sum of the results shall be 99.6 % minimum.7. Temper7.1 Tempers, The standard tempers, as defined in Classification B601, available to for pro

19、ducts described in this specificationare O60 (soft anneal), H02 (half-hard), and H04 (hard).8.
