Mechanical Property Requirements10.1 Tensile Requirements:10.1.1 The bars and rod shall conform to the tensile, yield,and elongation require
43、ments of Table 2.10.1.1.1 For shapes, the tensile requirements (if any) shallbe by agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.10.2 Rockwell HardnessRockwell hardness tests offer aquick and convenient method of checking copper of anytemper for general conformity to the requirements of tensi
44、lestrength. The approximate Rockwell hardness values for thespecified tempers are given in Table 2 for general informationand assistance in testing.11. Performance Requirements11.1 Bending Requirements:11.1.1 When specified in the contract or purchase order, forbar, bus bar, flat wire, and rod, test
45、 specimens shall withstandbeing bent cold (right way bend) through an angle as specifiedin Table 2 for the specified temper and size without fracture onthe outside of the bent portion and with no evidence of slivers,cracks, orange peel, or similar surface defects being visible tothe unaided eye.11.1
46、.2 The bend shall be made on a radius equal to theminimum cross-sectional dimension of the specimen, and thisdimension shall be radial to the bend.11.1.3 The axis of the bend shall be at an angle of 90 to thedirection of rolling, drawing, or extrusion (right way bend).11.1.4 Edgewise and wrong way b
47、end test requirements forbar or bus bar shall be by agreement between the manufactureror supplier and the purchaser.11.2 Microscopical Examination:11.2.1 Copper UNS Nos. C10100, C10200, C10300,C10400, C10500, C10700, C10800, and C12000 shall besubstantially free of cuprous oxide as determined by Pro
48、cedureA, Microscopical Examination, of Test Methods B577.11.2.2 In lieu of the Microscopic examination for copperC10100, C10200, C10300, C10400, C10500, C10700, C10800the manufacturer has the option to determine the actual oxygencontent of the copper in the final size. If the oxygen level isequal to
49、 or less than 10 ppm, then it is considered free ofcuprous oxide. For Copper C12000 when phosphorus contentis within the specification (0.004 and 0.012%) it should beconsidered substantially free of cuprous oxide.
