Scope1.1 This specification establishes the requireme

3、nts forcopper-zinc-silicon alloy rod produced in Copper Alloy UNSNos. C69300, C69400, C69430, C69700, and C69710.1.1.1 If the purchaser does not specify the alloy to besupplied, product is permitted to be furnished in any of thealloys named in 1.1.1.2 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inc

4、h-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.3 The following safety hazard

5、caveat pertains only to thetest methods described in this specification. This standard doesnot purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any,associated with its use. Ordering Information4.1 Include the following information when placing ordersfor product under this specification, as applicable:4.1.1 ASTM designation and year of issue,4.1.2 Copper allo

16、y UNS No. designation,4.1.3 FormCross section such as round, hexagon, and soforth,4.1.4 Temper(Section 7),4.1.5 DimensionsDiameter or distance between parallelsurfaces, nominal specific or stock length,4.1.6 QuantityTotal weight, footage, or number of pieces,and4.1.7 If product is purchased for agen

17、cies of the U.S.government (see Supplementary Requirements section ofSpecification B249/B249M).4.2 The following options are available and should bespecified at the time of placing the order, when required:4.2.1 Residual Stress Test (Performance Requirementssection, Section 9),4.2.1.1 Ammonia Vapor

18、Test or Mercurous Nitrate Test,4.2.1.2 For the Ammonia Vapor Test, pH value other than10.4.2.2 Certification (Specification B249/B249M), and4.2.3 Mill test report (Specification B249/B249M).5. Material and Manufacture5.1 MaterialThe material of manufacture shall be castbillets, logs, or rods of Copp

19、er Alloy UNS Nos. C69300,C69400, C69430, C69700, or C69710 of such purity andsoundness to be suitable for processing into the productprescribed herein.5.2 ManufactureThe product shall be manufactured byhot extrusion and finished by such cold working, annealing,straightening, and cutting to length as

20、 may be necessary tomeet the properties specified.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the chemical composi-tional requirements specified in Table 1 for the Copper AlloyUNS No. designation specified in the ordering information.6.1.1 These compositional limits do not preclude the

21、pres-ence of other elements. By agreement between the manufac-turer and the purchaser, limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements.6.2 For alloys in which zinc is listed as “remainder,” eithercopper or zinc may be taken as the difference between the sumof results of all other

22、 elements determined and 100 %.6.3 When all elements in Table 1 are determined, the sum ofresults shall be 99.5 % min.7. Temper7.1 The standard temper for products under this specifica-tion is H02 (Half Hard) for UNS No. C69300 and H04 (Hard)for UNS Nos. C69400, C69430, C69700, and C69710.8. Mechani

23、cal Property Requirements8.1 Tensile Strength RequirementsProduct furnished un-der this specification shall conform to the tensile requirementsprescribed in Table 2 when tested in accordance with TestMethods E8/E8M.9. Performance Requirements9.1 Residual Stress Test:9.1.1 When specified in the contr

24、act or purchase order, theproduct shall be tested for residual stress according to therequirements of Test Method B154 or Test Method B858, andshow no signs of cracking. (WarningMercury is a definitehealth hazard. With the Mercurous Nitrate Test, equipment forthe detection and removal of mercury vap
