Scope1.1 This specification establishes the requirements forcopper-cobalt-beryllium alloy (UNS No. C17500), copper-nickel-beryllium alloy (UNS No. C17510), and copper-nickel-lead-beryllium alloy (UNS No. C17465) rod and bar in straightlengths.1.2 UnitsThe values s

4、tated in inch-pound units are to beregarded as standard. The values given in parentheses aremathematical conversions to SI units, which are provided forinformation only and are not considered standard.1.3 The following hazard statement pertains only to the testmethod portions of this specification:

16、.2 Tensile strength test (9.1),5.2.3 Certification (Specification B249/B249M), and5.2.4 Mill test report (Specification B249/B249M).6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the compositional limitsgiven in Table 4 for the copper alloy designated in the orderinginformation.6.1.1 These

17、 composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements by agreement between themanufacturer and the purchaser.6.2 Copper, listed as the “remainder” is the differencebetween the sum of results for all elements determined

18、and100 %.6.3 When all elements specified in Table 4 for the copperalloy designated in the ordering information are determined,the sum of results shall be 99.5 % min.7. Temper7.1 Tempers, as described in Classification B601, availableunder this specification are: TB00 (solution heat treated (A).TF00

19、(precipitation hardened (AT), TD04 (solution heattreated and cold worked: hard (H), and TH04 (hard andprecipitation heat treated (HT).NOTE 1Although not produced under this specification, non-standardtempers are available by special order and the properties of such productare subject to negotiation

20、between the manufacturer and the purchaser.8. Physical Property Requirements8.1 Electrical Conductivity:8.1.1 Product furnished to this specification shall conformto the electrical conductivity requirement given in Table 1 forthe applicable temper, when tested in accordance with TestMethod E1004 for

21、 product equal to and greater than38 in.(9.52 mm) in nominal diameter or distance between parallelsurfaces and other shapes having a nominal cross sectional areaexceeding 0.141 in.2(91 mm2). On product less than38 in. (9.5mm) in nominal diameter or distance between parallel surfacesand other shapes

22、having a nominal cross sectional area lessthan 0.141 in.2(91 mm2), resistivity will be measured inaccordance with Test Method B193 and converted to conduc-tivity.9. Mechanical Property Requirements9.1 Tensile test results shall be the product acceptancecriteria, when tested in accordance with Test M

23、ethods E8 forproduct equal to or less than38 in. (9.5 mm) in nominaldiameter or distance between parallel surfaces, and othershapes having a nominal cross sectional area equal to or lessthan 0.141 in.2(91 mm2).9.1.1 Tensile strength requirements are given in Table 1.9.2 Rockwell hardness is the prod

24、uct acceptance criteria,when tested in accordance with Test Methods E18 for productlarger than38 in. (9.5 mm) in nominal diameter or distancebetween parallel surfaces, and other shapes having a nominalcross sectional area larger than 0.141 in.2(91 mm2).9.2.1 The referee product rejection criteria sh

25、all be tensiletest results, when tested in accordance with Test Methods E18.9.3 The tension test will be used for qualification of allmaterial when specifically required by the purchaser, as insome government requirements.10. Precipitation Heat-Treatment10.1 The precipitation heat-treatment is perfo

26、rmed on TB00(A) and TD04 (H) tempers by the purchaser after forming.10.2 Conformance to the TF00 (AT) and TH04 (HT) speci-fication limits shown in Table 1, for products supplied in theTB00 (A) or the TD04 (H) tempers, shall be determined bytesting test specimens heat-treated at a uniform temperature

27、 of850 to 900F for the times shown in Table 2.10.3 End products may be heat-treated at other times andtemperatures for specific applications. The mechanical re-quirements of Table 1 do not apply to such special heattreatment. Specific test requirements as needed shall be agreedupon between the manufacturer or the s

31、upplier and the pur-chaser of the end product.10.4 TF00 (AT) and TH04 (HT) tempers as standard mill-hardened products have been precipitation heat-treated andtested by the manufacturer. An appropriate time and tempera-ture has been used to produce properties within the specifica-tion limits shown in

32、 Table 1. Table 2 does not apply. Furtherthermal treatment of these tempers is not normally required.10.5 Material may be supplied with nonstandard properties.Table 1 values would not apply. Specific test requirements asneeded shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer or thesupplier and the purc

33、haser of these end products.11. Number of Tests and Retests11.1 Retests:11.1.1 Refer to Specification B249/B249M with the follow-ing additional requirements:11.1.2 Material that fails to conform to the requirements ofthis specification due to inadequate heat-treatment may beheat-treated subsequently

34、 and submitted for test. Only twosuch subsequent treatments shall be permitted.12. Test Methods12.1 Chemical Analysis:12.1.1 The chemical composition shall be determined, incase of dispute, in accordance with the applicable method inthe Annex of Specification B194.12.1.2 The test method(s) to be fol

35、lowed for the determina-tion of element(s) resulting from contractual or purchase orderagreement shall be as agreed upon between the supplier and thepurchaser.12.2 Mechanical Property Requirements:12.2.1 In case of dispute over Rockwell hardness testresults, the rejection criteria shall be tensile t

36、est results, whentested in accordance with Test Methods E8.13.
