1、Designation: B502/B502M 101Standard Specification forAluminum-Clad Steel Core Wire for Use in OverheadElectrical Aluminum Conductors1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B502/B502M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or, in the case
2、 of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1NOTEDesignation was corrected editorially in October 2013.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers round,
3、aluminum-clad steelcore wire with two designations of tensile strengths, AW2(Normal Strength) and AW3 (High Strength).1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsy

Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.2.1 For conductor sizes designated by AWG, the require-ments in SI units have been numerically converted fromcorresponding values stated or derived in inch-pound units
5、. Forconductor sizes designated by SI units only, the requirementsare stated or derived in SI units.2. In computing stress at 1 % extension andultimate tensile strength, the actual diameter of the finishedwire shall be used.5.2 Elongation TestThe elongation shall be determined by

It shall be attached to the testspecimen at a load equal to the initial tensile stress shown inTable 3 and Table 4. At this load the extensometer shall be
