Scope1.1 This specification covers refined rhodium as sponge andpowder in three grades as follows:1.1.1 Grade 99.80Rhodium having a purity of 99.80 %,1.1.2 Grad

7、ture3.1 The material may be produced by any refining processthat yields a product capable of meeting the chemical require-ments of this specification. The purchaser, upon request, shallbe informed of the refining process used.4. Chemical Requirements4.1 The material should conform to the requirement
8、s forchemical composition as prescribed in Table 1.4.2 Analysis shall be made using the manufacturers stan-dard methods. In the event of disagreement as to the chemicalcomposition of the metal, methods of chemical analysis forreference purposes shall be determined by a mutually accept-able laborator
9、y.5. Sampling5.1 The value of this material is such that special attentionmust be paid to sampling procedures. The purchaser andmanufacturer shall agree upon sampling procedures used.5.2 Lot SizeSampling lots shall consist of the following:5.2.1 SpongeA single refining lot and5.2.2 PowderA single re
10、fining lot.6. Rejection and Rehearing6.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection should be reported tothe producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer orsupplier may make
11、claim for a rehearing.6.2 Investigation of ClaimsIn a question of chemicalcomposition, a new sample shall be drawn by representativesof both parties in accordance with Section 5. The properlymixed and quartered sample shall be separated into three parts,each of which shall be placed in a sealed pack
12、age, one for themanufacturer, one for the purchaser, and one for an umpire, ifnecessary.6.3 In the event of disagreement between the manufacturerand the purchaser on the conformance of the metal to therequirements of this specification by the purchaser, the umpiresample is to be submitted to a mutua
13、lly acceptable laboratoryfor analysis.
