Scope*1.1 This specification covers commercial zinc alloys in ingot form for remelting for the manufacture of castings from the alloysas specif

3、ied and designated as shown in Table 1.1.2 Slush casting alloys are used primarily for the manufacture of hollow castings such as lighting fixtures, lamp bases, andsmall statues.1.3 This specification covers two zinc alloys which are specified and designated as follows:UNS ASTMZ34510 Slush Casting A

4、lloy AZ30500 Slush Casting Alloy B1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all

Terminology3.1 Terms shall be defined in accordance with Terminology B899.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to Thi

10、s Standard:3.2.1 slush casting, na process for producing hollow castings by pouring special molten alloys into a mold, allowing the metalin contact with the mold to solidify, and then pouring out the still molten metal in the center.1 This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee B0

Ordering Information4.1 Orders for zinc alloy ingot under this specification shall include information as specified in Specification B949, Section 4.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 T

16、he alloys may be made by any approved process.5.2 The material covered by this specification shall be of uniform quality and shall be free from dross, slag, or other harmfulcontamination. The ingot shall also be reasonably free of surface corrosion and adhering foreign matter.6. Chemical Requirement

17、s6.1 LimitsThis alloy shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition Table 1.6.2 Chemical requirement procedures shall be in compliance with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 5.2.7. Sampling for Chemical Analysis7.1 Sampling procedures shall be in compliance with the provis

18、ions of Specification B949, Section 6.8. Method of Chemical Analysis8.1 The determination of chemical composition shall be made in accordance with Test Methods E536, or ISO 3815-1, or ISO3815-2 or other methods. In case of dispute, the results secured by Test Methods E536, or ISO 3815-1, or ISO 3815

19、-2 shall bethe basis of acceptance.NOTE 1Test Methods E536 is directly applicable, in an unmodified form, only to alloys 3, 5, and 7. ISO 3815-1 and ISO 3815-2 are generic methodsapplied to zinc and zinc alloys. Each of the methods may be modified and formatted for the alloy to be assayed. An experi

20、enced chemist, using suitableand/or traceable standards along with valid quality assurance techniques, will be able to perform and validate the methods and demonstrate acceptableprecision and accuracy.9. Source Inspection9.1 Source inspection shall be in compliance with the provisions of Specificati

21、on B949, Section 7.10. Rejection and Rehearing10.1 Claims to be considered in accordance with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 8.11. Investigation of Claims11.1 Claims shall be investigated in accordance with the provisions of Specification B949, Section 812. Settlement of Claims12.1 Cl
