Scope*1.1 This specific

3、ation pertains to blended hydraulic cementsfor both general and special applications, using slag, pozzolan,limestone, or some combination of these, with portland cementor portland cement clinker or slag with lime.NOTE 1This specification prescribes ingredients and proportions,with some performance r

4、equirements whereas Performance SpecificationC1157 is a hydraulic cement specification in which performance criteriaalone govern the products and their acceptance.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system ma

5、y not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard. Terminology3.1 DefinitionsThe terms used in this specification aredefined in Terminology C219, except for the following terms:3.1.1 bi

Classification4.1 This specification applies to the following types ofblended cement that generally are intended for use as indicated.4.1.1 Blended hydraulic cements for general concrete con-struction.4.1.1.1 Type ISPortland blast-fur

21、nace slag cement.4.1.1.2 Type IPPortland-pozzolan cement.4.1.1.3 Type ILPortland-limestone cement.4.1.1.4 Type ITTernary blended cement.4.2 Reporting:4.2.1 The naming practice for blended cements shall bemade by adding the suffix (X) to the type designation under4.1.1, where (X) equals the targeted

22、percentage of slag,pozzolan or limestone, in the product expressed as a wholenumber by mass of the final blended product, within theallowable variation as stated in 14.3.4.2.2 The naming practice for ternary blended cements shallbe made by adding the suffixes (AX) and (BY) to the Type ITdesignation

23、under 4.1.1, where:A is either “S” for slag cement, “P” for pozzolan, or“L” for limestone,whichever is present in larger amount by mass, andX is the targeted percentage by mass of constituent A, andB is either “S” for slag cement, “P” for pozzolan, or“L” for limestone, andY is the targeted percentag

24、e by mass of constituent B.Both X and Y values are expressed as a whole number bymass of the final blended product, within the allowablevariation as stated in 14.3. If X and Y are the same, list the twoconstituents in alphabetical order by constituent type (lime-stone, pozzolan, or slag).NOTE 2Examp

36、d by the manufacturer.FApplicable only when moderate heat of hydration (MH) is specified, in which case the strength requirements shall be 80 % of the values shown in the table.GThe test for mortar expansion is an optional requirement to be applied only at the purchasers request and is not required

37、unless the cement will be used with alkali-reactive aggregate.HIn the testing of HS cement, testing at one year shall not be required when the cement meets the 180-day limit. An HS cement failing the 180-day limit shall not be rejected unless it also fails the one-year limit.IIf specifically invoked

38、 for Type IP(LH) and Type IT(P$S)(LH), the optional sulfate resistance criterion that applies for MS is a maximum of 0.10% expansion at 180 days and for HS is a maximum of 0.05% expansionat 180 days or a maximum of 0.10% expansion at one year (see Footnote H). Type IL and Type IT cements with limest

39、one are not included as moderate (MS) or high (HS) sulfate resistance cements.C595/C595M1216used to produce the cement. The plant facilities for intergrind-ing or blending and inspection shall be adequate to ensurecompliance with the provisions of this specification.13. Rejection13.1 At the option o

40、f the purchaser, cement shall be rejectedif it fails to meet any of the requirements of this specificationapplicable to the cement. Such rejection shall apply to anoptional requirement only if that option has been invoked forthe cement.13.2 When the purchaser requires, cement in bulk storagefor a pe

41、riod greater than six months shall be resampled andretested and, at the option of the purchaser, shall be rejected ifit fails to meet any of the applicable requirements of thisspecification. Cement so rejected shall be the responsibility ofthe owner of record at the time of sampling for retest.13.3

42、When the purchaser requires, packages more than 2 %below the mass marked thereon shall be rejected; or if theaverage mass of packages in any shipment, as shown bydetermining the mass of 50 packages taken at random, is lessthan that marked on the packages, the entire shipment, at theoption of the pur

43、chaser, shall be rejected.14. Certification14.1 At the request of the purchaser, the manufacturer shallstate in writing the source, amount, and composition of theessential constituents used in manufacture of the finishedcement and the composition of the blended cement purchased.14.2 At the request o

44、f the purchaser, the manufacturer shallstate in writing the nature, amount, and identity of anyprocessing, functional, or air-entraining addition used; andalso, if requested, shall supply test data showing compliance ofany such processing addition with the provisions of Specifica-tion C465 and of an

45、y such functional addition with theprovisions of Specification C688, and of any such air-entraining addition with the provisions of Specification C226.14.3 At the request of the purchaser, the manufacturer shallalso state in writing that the amounts of pozzolan, slag, orlimestone in the finished cem

46、ent will not vary more than 6 5.0mass % of the finished cement from lot to lot or within a lot.14.4 Upon request of the purchaser in the contract or order,a manufacturers certification shall be furnished indicating thatthe material was tested during production or transfer inaccordance with this spec

47、ification, that it complies with thisspecification, and a report of the test results shall be furnishedat the time of shipment (to include both amount retained on the45-m (No. 325) sieve and specific surface by the air perme-ability method).15. Packaging and Package Marking15.1 When the cement is de

48、livered in packages, the words,“portland blast-furnace slag cement,” “portland-pozzolan ce-ment,” “portland-limestone cement,” or “ternary blended ce-ment” as appropriate; the type of cement, name and brand ofthe manufacturer, and the mass of the cement containedtherein, shall be plainly marked on e

49、ach package. When thecement contains a functional addition listed in 5.1.3.5-5.1.3.10,the type of functional addition shall be plainly marked on eachpackage. Similar information shall be provided in the shippingdocuments accompanying the shipment of packaged or bulkcement. All packages shall be in good condition at the time ofinspection.16. Storage16.1 The cement shall be stored in such a manner as topermit easy access for proper inspection and identification ofeach shipment, and in a suitable weathertight
