Scope1.1 This specification covers two types of pigment commer-cially known as basic lead silicochromate.1.2 The values stated in SI units a

Composition and Properties3.1 Both types of pigment shall consist of silica coated withlead silicates and lead chromates and

5、shall conform to therequirements in Table 1.3.2 The mass color and character of the tint obtained bymixing the pigment with a white pigment shall be the same asthat of a reference sample mutually agreed upon by thepurchaser and the seller.3.3 The oil absorption shall be equal, within agreed upontole

6、rances, to that of a reference sample agreed upon by thepurchaser and the seller.3.4 Particle Size:3.4.1 Type 1This grade is characterized by major amountsof particles in the 6.5- to 28-m range. Coarse particlesretained on a 45-m (No. 325) sieve shall be less than 0.3 %.The maximum specific surface

7、diameter (SSD) shall be 8.5 m.3.4.2 Type 2This grade is characterized by major amountsof fine-sized particles. In general, the maximum size isessentially below 1.0 to 2.5 m. Coarse particles retained on a45-m (No. 325) sieve shall be less than 0.1 %. The maximumSpecific Surface Diameter (SSD) shall

8、be 2.0 m.3.4.3 Where closer control within a grade is required, thefineness requirements shall be as agreed upon by the purchaserand the seller.4. Sampling4.1 Two samples shall be taken at random from differentpackages from each lot, batch, days pack, or other unit ofproduction in a shipment. When n

9、o markings distinguishingbetween units of a production appear, samples shall be takenfrom different packages, in the ratio of two samples for each5000 kg (10 000 lb), except that for shipments of less than10 000 lb two samples shall be taken. At the option of thepurchaser, the samples may be tested

10、separately or afterblending in equal quantities the samples from the sameproduction unit to form a composite sample.5. Test Methods5.1 Tests shall be conducted in accordance with the follow-ingASTM test methods. Test procedures not covered byASTMtest methods shall be mutually agreed upon by the purc

11、haserand the seller.5.2 Chemical AnalysisTest Methods D1844.5.3 Ignition LossDetermine the loss on ignition in accor-dance with the section on Procedure of Test Methods D1208,but using an ignition temperature of 450 to 550C.5.4 Particle Size by Microscopic MethodsProcedures fordetermining particle s
