Scope1.1 This terminology covers all terminology pertaining toitems that are considered subassemblies in the manufacture oftextile products except seams and stitches. Tex

3、tile joiningstructures (seams and stitches) are discussed in detail inPractice D 61931.2 The principle parts of slide fastners defined in thisterminology are illustrated in Figs. 1-10. 11、in thelocked position.chain, nthe portion of a slide fastener, without its compo-nents (top stops, bottom stops, slider, separating parts,etc.),that is formed by alternately interlocking the elements of onestringer with the elements of an opposing stringer .chain front, ngeneral reference of the sli

For slide fastener designs where the chain isbilaterally symmetrical (such as an IEF for example) thefront is generally referenced by the location of the slider tab,on a single tab slider, when opening or closing the

On a continuous element fastener (CEF) the measure-ment includes the tape and sewing threads on a sewn typefastener or the tape and yarns for securing the element to thetape on a woven type fastener if these parts extend beyond

18、or coil), serpentine or other configuration. The con-tinuous element contains heads formed along its length at thecrimp for the purpose of interlocking. The side of thecontinuous element opposite the crimp is the shoulder andbears the slider flanges during opening and closing of theelements. (Compar

19、e separate element.)continuous element slide fastener, nCEF, can be a sewntype or a woven type slide fastener. The sewn type CEF is aslide fastener consisting of two continuously formed ele-ments, each attached to one of the opposing edges of twotapes, which are engaged and disengaged by the movemen

20、tof a slider. The continuous elements of the sewn type CEFare formed separately from the tapes and later joined bysewing. The CEF woven type slide fastener consists of twocontinuous elements formed integrally with the tape, whichare engaged and disengaged by movement of the slider. (SeeFig. 3.) (Com

25、 the bottom of one stringer. (See Fig. 5.)DISCUSSIONThe fixed retainer has an opening shaped to fit theseparable pin. In order to close the chain, the separable pin is passedthrough the slider body and then inserted into this opening. The fixedretainer holds or retains the two stringers in alignment

The purpose of themoveable r

32、etainer is to permit separation of the two stringersfrom the bottom, while the stringers remain connected at thetop by the moveable retainer and slideron the slide fastener.(See Fig. 7.) A slider fastener with a moveable retainerdevice is sometimes referred to as a “Two Way” separablefastener and is
