Classification4.1 This specification includes the requirements for fourtypes as follows:4.1.1 Type 1General-purpose tape, nominal thickness0.06 mm (0.0025 i

7、n.) and coated with a thermoplastic adhesivewhich is not chemically heat reactive.4.1.2 Type 2General-purpose tape, nominal thickness0.06 mm (0.0025 in.) and coated with a heat-reactive thermo-setting adhesive.4.1.3 Type 3General-purpose tape, nominal thickness0.09 mm (0.0035 in.) and coated with a

8、heat-reactive thermo-setting adhesive.4.1.4 Type 4General-purpose tape, nominal thickness0.025 mm (0.0010 in.) and coated with a heat-reactive ther-mosetting adhesive.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The polymer used as the backing shall be clear polyeth-ylene terephthalate sheet.5.2 The pressure-sen

9、sitive adhesive coating shall be freefrom lumps and bare spots. There shall be no adhesive transferwhen tape is unwound from the roll.5.3 Both transparent and colored tapes are available.5.3.1 Type 1Transparent.5.3.2 Types 2, 3, and 4Transparent and colors.6. Test Methods8.1 Select samples, conditioning and test methods in accor-dance with Test Methods D 1000 except as noted in Tables 1and 2.8.2 P

15、erform the penetration test in accordance with TestMethods D 876 with the following exceptions: With no load onthe rod, insert each specimen between the steel ball and steelplate with the adhesive of the tape facing the plate and assuringthat the tape is smooth against the plate and not stretched. 16、senew steel balls for each test.9. Rejection9.1 If the test results of any roll do not conform to therequirements prescribed in the specification, two additionalrolls shall be selected and tested. If one of the two additionalsample rolls also does not conform to the requirements, the lotmay be rejec

17、ted at the option of the purchaser.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 The packaging shall withstand shipment and shall givethe product ample protection against damage. The individualrolls shall not adhere to each other or to the container.10.2 Each package shall be marked with the name of themanu

18、facturer, the ASTM specification number, the type num-ber, the thickness, the width, and the length on the roll.11.
