Materials and Manufacture5.1 Finger cots shall be manufactured from latex conform-ing to Specification D1076.5.2 Finger cots shall be free of embedded grit or discolora-tion, but m
9、ay be transparent, opaque, or colored.5.3 Finger cots and any dressing materials applied to themshall not liberate substances known to be toxic or otherwiseharmful under normal conditions of use. Any dressing orcompounding materials shall not have a deleterious effect onthe rubber and shall be permi
10、tted by the Code of FederalRegulations, Title 21, Food and Drug Administration, Section177.2600 on Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use, thatlists materials safe for use as indirect food additives. 15、 8.4.7. Sampling7.1 Finger cots shall be sampled and inspected in accor-dance with ISO 2859. The inspection levels and acceptablequality levels (AQL) shall conform to those specified in Table1, or as agreed between the purchaser and seller.8. Test Methods8.1 The following tests shall be conducted to
16、 ensure therequirements of Section 9 are met as prescribed in Table 1.8.2 Design:8.2.1 RimThe open end of the finger cot shall terminate inan integral rim.8.2.2 Physical DimensionsThe length shall be 70 6 5mm. The thickness shall be 0.09 6 0.03 mm or as agreed uponby the manufacturer and end user. T
17、he width of the varioussizes shall be as follows: small, 24 6 2 mm; medium, 28 6 2mm; large, 30 6 2 mm; extra large, 34.5 6 2.5 mm.8.2.3 SamplingSampling shall be conducted according tothe inspection level and AQL specified in Table 1.8.2.4 TestingMeasure the length of the finger cot to thenearest 1
18、 mm. Measure the width to the nearest 0.5 mm at adistance at least 5 mm from the ends. Measure the thickness tothe nearest 0.002 mm at a distance about 5 mm from the openend, on specimens from which any lubricant has been removedwith water or isopropanol. The thickness micrometer shallconform to Tes
19、t Methods D412, except for the smaller-scalegraduations.8.2.5 The precision and bias for measuring dimensions areas specified in Practice D3767.8.3 Physical Properties:8.3.1 Finger cots shall meet the minimum requirementsspecified in Table 2.8.3.2 SamplingSampling shall be conducted according tothe
20、inspection level and AQL specified in Table 1.8.3.3 Testing:8.3.3.1 Condition finger cots to be subjected to acceleratedaging for 166 6 2hat706 2C, or for 22 6 0.3 h at 100 62C in accordance with Test Methods D573 or D865. Forreferee tests, condition for 166 6 2hat706 1C, inaccordance with Test Meth
21、od D573.8.3.3.2 If Test Method D573 is used, do not age finger cotsof different composition at the same time in the same oven.Age finger cots in original packages. Condition both aged andunaged finger cots at 23 6 2C for not less than 16 h beforetesting.8.3.3.3 Determine the ultimate elongation in a
22、ccordancewith Test Methods D412. Use ring specimens cut perpendicularto the length direction of the finger cots with a die havingcutting edges spaced 20.0 6 0.1 mm apart and longer than thewidth of the cot. Cut the specimen near the center of the length,rejecting any specimen not cut with a single i
23、mpact of the die.Measure the specimen width of the flattened ring to the nearest0.5 mm and multiply by two to obtain the circumference of thering. Use a tester having a grip separation speed of 8.5 6 0.8mm/s, and roller grips at least 20 mm in width, about 5 mm indiameter, lubricated on the surface
24、with castor oil or othereffective rubber lubricant.8.3.3.4 Calculate the ultimate elongation, E, in percent asfollows:E 5 100 2D 1 G 2 C!/C (1)where:C = circumference of specimen,D = distance between centers of roller grips at break, andG = circumference of one roller grip.8.3.4 The precision and bi
25、as of determining tensile strengthand ultimate elongation are as specified in Test Methods D412.8.4 Inspection:8.4.1 Finger cots shall be inspected for tears, holes, embed-ded particles, foreign material, and adhering surfaces mani-fested by Type 1 cots failing to unroll easily and Type 2 cotsadheri
26、ng to each other or restricting admission of the finger. Ifthe order specifies type of lubricant, inspect finger cots for thespecified type.8.4.2 Finger cots shall be sampled for inspection accordingto the inspection level and AQL specified in Table 2.9. Acceptance9.1 Finger cots will be considered
