Significance and Use4.1 This system of sewing thread ticket numbers wasdeveloped to overcome the confusion arising from t
8、he use bythe thread industry of a multiple number of undefined andunrelated ticketing systems.4.2 The practice is used by sewing thread manufacturers todetermine the ticket number to be assigned to a sewing thread.The ticket number is an indicator of the amount of raw fiber inthe thread. It is based
9、 on greige thread rather than finishedthread because finishing processes such as bleaching, dyeing,stretching, mercerizing, or sewing finish application signifi-cantly change the apparent thread size so that it may become aninadequate indicator of raw fiber present. Because of theforegoing it is not
10、 practical to verify the ticket number bysizing the finished thread.5. Sampling5.1 LotUnless otherwise agreed upon between the pur-chaser and supplier, a lot shall be a discrete manufacturing unitproduced in a given period of time not to exceed a calendarmonth.5.2 Lot SampleSelect the number of spec
11、imens as directedin ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 using single sampling with a generalinspection level of S1 and a 1.0 AQL.5.3 Laboratory SampleAs a laboratory sample for accep-tance testing, take each unit in the lot sample.5.4 Test SpecimensFrom each package in the laboratorysample, take one specimen.6. Requirem
12、ents6.1 Sewing thread ticket numbers shall be based on theaverage resultant yarn number and shall be designated asindicated in Table 1.7.
