4、dhesive lubricant shall be a one-component,moisture-curing, polyurethane compound extended with aro-matic hydrocarbon solvent. The compound shall provide ad-equate lubrication for insertion of the seal into the joint and, inthe actual field application, shall bond the seal to the joint facethroughou
5、t repeated cycles of expansion and contraction,effectively sealing the joint against infiltration of moisture.4. Physical Requirements4.1 The material shall conform to the physical propertiesdescribed in Table 1.5. Sampling5.1 Samples of the adhesive lubricant shall be 1 L (1 qt)consisting of a comp
6、osite taken from three or more separatecontainers chosen at random from the same batch. A batch orlot shall be considered as all finished material that wasmanufactured simultaneously or continuously as a unit prior topackaging. Each of the containers sampled shall be resealedand marked for identific
7、ation.5.2 Samples shall be taken at the point of manufacture orwarehouse prior to delivery, or at the point of delivery fromeach lot.6. Test Conditions6.1 Tests shall be conducted at standard laboratory condi-tions of 23 6 2C (73.4 6 3.6F). All materials and equipmentshall be held at these condition
8、s prior to test for a sufficienttime to assure equilibrium.7. 14、eterIt shall be a Brookfield Model RVT vis-cometer with helipath stand and, TA, TB, TC, TD and TEspindles.8.3 Rubber StripsThe rubber strips shall be 150 mm (6in.) long, 25 mm (1 in.) wide and 1.5 mm (116 in.) thick, andshall be obtained from an outside wall of preformed elasto-meric bridge seal rep
15、resentative of the seal to be bonded withthe adhesive lubricant.8.4 Concrete Blocks, 200 by 200 by 75 mm (8 by 8 by 3 in.)and made of concrete similar to the concrete to which the sealis to be bonded. The blocks shall be cured for at least 14 daysin a moisture room followed by at least 7 days at nor
16、mallaboratory air condition. The test surface shall be smooth,freshly sandblasted before testing.8.5 Steel RollerA suitable 50 mm (2 in.) wide rollerweighing 4.5 kg (10 lb).8.6 Steel Blocks, 165 mm (612 in.) long by 50 mm (2 in.)wide weighing 4.5 kg (10 lb).8.7 WeightsA 500-g and a 1000-g weight sha

Test Methods9.1 Solids Content:9.1.1 Place approximately 20 g of the adhesive in a coveredweighing bottle.9.1.2 Weigh a small aluminum foil drying dish together witha small glass stirri
18、ng rod to the nearest 1 mg. Weigh out to thenearest 1 mg approximately 112 g of the adhesive by differencefrom the weighing bottle into the dish, keeping the bottlecovered as much as possible. Distribute the adhesive uniformlyover the bottom of the dish in as thin a layer as possible bymeans of the
19、stirring rod.9.1.3 Place the dish with the rod and contents in a circulat-ing air oven at 105 6 2C (221 6 3.6F) for 3 h 6 5 min oruntil a constant weight is reached.9.1.4 Place the warm dish with rod and contents immedi-ately into a desiccator and allow to cool to room temperaturebefore weighing to

Record viscosity in mPa.s (cP).9.2.2 Shear RatioWith the spindle used for the viscositydetermination, measure the viscosity of the material at 2.5 rpm;and then at 0.5 r

Calculate shear ratio as follows:Shear Ratio 5 viscosity at 0.5 rpm/viscosity at 2.5 rpm (2)9.3 Lubricating LifeApply a 65 to 78 mm wide, by 150mm long, by 0.75 6 0.10 mm thick (212 to 3 in., by 6 in., by0.030 6 0.004 in.) strip of the lubricant adhesive to a glassplate or smooth-surface paper t
23、est chart using a film applicator.Test lubricating life by rubbing finger on coated chart at 30-minintervals. Record lubricating life as the time at which drag orfriction increases noticeably and material starts to thicken orbecome tacky.9.4 SagApply a 0.75 6 0.01-mm (0.030 6 0.004-in.)thick film of
24、 material to a glass plate or smooth-surface papertest chart in the manner as described in 9.3. Support glass plateor chart vertically with the 150-mm (6-in.) axis of the striphorizontal. After 1 h, check for sagging or running.9.5 Since a precision estimate for this test has not beendeveloped, this
25、 test method is to be used for research orinformational purposes only. Therefore, this test should not beused for acceptance or rejection of a material for purchasingpurposes.9.6 Peel Strength Test:9.6.1 Roughen one side of a 25-mm (1-in.) rubber strip witha coarse grinding wheel or other suitable m
26、eans. Apply a brushcoat of the freshly mixed lubricant adhesive to the roughenedsurface of the rubber strip and to the concrete block surface.9.6.2 Immediately place the coated surfaces together androll down the rubber strip with a 50-mm (2-in.) steel rollerweighing 4.5 kg (10 lb), making six single
27、 passes, each passrequiring about 2 s. Wipe excess material away from the edgesof the rubber strip. Place the 50 mm (2 in.) wide side of thesteel block on the strip. Cure specimen for 48 h.9.6.3 After curing, remove the steel block. Separate about25 mm (1 in.) of an end of the rubber strip from the
28、concrete.Support the specimen with the surface of the concrete block towhich the rubber strip is attached horizontal and facingdownward. Suspend a 500-g weight from the free end of therubber strip for 3 min. Remove the weight and carefullymeasure to the nearest 1 mm (116 in.), the distance the rubbe
29、rstrip was peeled from the concrete. Repeat using the 1000-gweight.9.6.4 Report results in millimetres (or inches or fractionthereof) peeled in 3 min. Should the specimen peel completelyin less than 3 min, report as 100 % peeled and record the time.9.6.5 Since a precision estimate for this standard
30、has notbeen developed, this test method is to be used for research orinformational purposes only. Therefore, this test should not beused for acceptance or rejection of a material for purchasingpurposes.10. Certification and Acceptance10.1 The acceptance of the adhesive lubricant shall be basedupon o
