1、Designation: D4921 95 (Reapproved 2012)Standard Test Method forFoaming Tendencies of Engine Coolants at RoomTemperature1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D4921; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the

2、year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method applies to a simple shake test forevaluating the tendency of an aqueous solution of enginecoo

3、lant to foam at room temperature.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitat

Significance and Use4.1 The test method will generally identify coolants thathave a tendency to foam excessively at room tempera

To avoidleakage of test contents from the cylinder, the stopper shouldbe held or locked in place.NOTE 2Secure the stopper on the graduated cylinder using thumb, index finger, or suitable locking device.8.4 Place cylinder on a l

Report9.1 Report foam volumes (to the nearest 1.0 mL) for eachtest as well as the average of the tests.1
