3、overs thermoplastic fabrics such aspolyester, polyester/polyamide bicomponent, or compositeswith fiberglass or polyester scrims that can be used during theconstruction of cold-applied roofing and waterproofing.1.2 This specification is intended as a material specification.Issues regarding the suitab

4、ility of specific roof constructions orapplication techniques are beyond the scope of this specifica-tion.1.3 The specified tests and property values used to charac-terize the respective fabrics are intended to establish minimumproperties. In-place system design criteria or performanceattributes are

5、 factors beyond the scope of this material speci-fication.1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalu

Classification4.1 The thermoplastic fabrics covered by this specificationare of the following general constructions and composit

9、ions.Each is a separate class or type differentiated by the polymertype, combination of polymers, manufacturing process, orsome combination thereof.4.1.1 Type IPolyester spunbonded without resin, un-needled;4.1.2 Type IIPolyester spunbonded without resin, needled;4.1.3 Type IIIPolyester mat plus fib

10、er glass scrim withresin;4.1.4 Type IVPolyester core/polyamide sheath bicompo-nent spunbonded;4.1.5 Type VPolyester mat with polyester stitching; and4.1.6 Type VIPolyester mat plus polyester scrim withresin.4.1.7 Type VIIPolyester scrim fabric with resin.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The fabric sh

11、all be a uniform, thin, porous mat of theprimary thermoplastic polymer, with or without the addition ofreinforcing stranded glass or thermoplastic yarns. Chemicallybonding with a water-resistant resin or thermally bonding withother thermoplastic polymers shall be permitted.6. Physical Properties, Th

Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The finished material shall be free of visible defectssuch as ragged or untrue edges, folds, creases, wrinkles, tearsand hol

16、es.9. Sampling9.1 Sample the material and determine the properties enu-merated in this specification in accordance with the testprocedures referenced herein (also see Practice D1776).10. Thickness10.1 Determine the thickness of the fabric using the proce-dures described in Test Methods D1777.11. Bre

17、aking Load and Elongation11.1 Determine the breaking load and elongation by the cutstrip method as described in Test Methods D4830 and D5035.The preferred SI unit for breaking load is kN/m.12. Trapezoid Tearing Strength12.1 Determine the trapezoid tearing strength using theprocedures described in Te

18、st Methods D5733.13. Puncture Strength13.1 Determine the puncture strength using the proceduresdescribed in Test Methods D4830.14. Inspection14.1 InspectionInspection shall be in accordance with therequirements of this specification.14.2 Inspection AlternativesAlternative inspection re-quirements sh

19、all be determined by and as agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier.15. Rejection and Resubmittal15.1 Failure to ConformFailure to conform to any of therequirements as stated in this specification constitutes groundsfor rejection.15.2 Rejection RedressThe supplier shall have the right toin

20、spect the rejected materials. The supplier and the purchasershall agree to the quantity of rolls deemed unacceptable. Thesupplier shall then have the right to submit the same number ofnew rolls as replacement.16. Packaging and Package Marking16.1 The rolls shall be wrapped or banded securely with as

21、ubstantial grade of paper, plastic wrap, or taping that encirclesthe roll in a manner that will prevent slipping or unraveling.16.2 No roll shall contain more than two pieces, and nomore than 3 % of the rolls in any lot (pallet or shipment) shallcontain two pieces. Pieces represent roll ends that ca

22、n be oneof the following: (1) individual and loose, (2) adhered, or (3)stitched to appear as one continuous piece. These rolls must bemarked clearly with a red tag or other item to identify thelocation of the splice.16.3 Unless otherwise specified, each package shall bemarked plainly with the manufa

23、cturers or suppliers name,product or brand name, or both, and theASTM designation andtype.17.
