1、Designation: D 6053 03An American National StandardStandard Test Method forDetermination of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Contentof Electrical Insulating Varnishes1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 6053; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforig

2、inal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method covers the determination of the amountof vola

7、electrical, mechanical, and environmental protec-tion.3.1.1.1 DiscussionThere are two types of electrical insu-lating varnish: solvent-containing and solventless. The solvent-containing varnish is a solution, dispersion, or emulsion of apolymer or mixture of polymers in a volatile, nonreactableliqui

Significance and Use4.1 This test method determines the volatile organic contentof an electrical insulating varni

9、sh. It utilizes a procedure wheredishes containing a known amount of varnish are baked and theamount of volatile organic compound is measured. Calcula-tions are performed to express this in g/L or lb/gal. This testmethod is applicable to all types of varnishes. However, waterborne varnishes while bak

Interferences5.1 The amount of volatile organic content determined bythis test method is known to be affected by the rate of airexchange in the baking oven.6. Apparatus6.1 Weighing Dishes, alum
