1、Designation: D 6155 06Standard Specification forNontraditional Coarse Aggregates for Bituminous PavingMixtures1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 6155; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of

2、last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers the use of coarse aggregatesnot traditionally used in bituminous paving mixtures. Thesenont

3、raditional aggregates can be described as any aggregateother than those described in Specifications D 692, D 693,D 1139, and D 5106, (crushed stone, crushed hydraulic-cementconcrete, crushed blast-furnace slag, steel furnace slag, andcrushed gravel) suitable for use in bituminous paving mixtures,as

4、described in Specifications D 3515 or D 4215.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. The inch-pound units given in parentheses are forinformation only.1.3 The text of this specification references notes andfootnotes that provides explanatory material. These notes andfoot

Physical Properties5.1 GeneralThe coarse aggregate shall consist of hard, strong, durable pieces, free of adherent coatings and conform-ing to the requirements of this specification.5.2 GradingThe grading shall conform to one

18、of thefollowing subparagraphs:5.2.1 The coarse aggregate grading shall conform to therequirements of Classification D 448 for the size numberdesignated in the order. The size to be used is dependent uponthe desired composition of the paving mixture, and the requiredsize or sizes either before or aft

The grading to beused is dependent upon the desired composition of the pavingmixture and shall be determined by the purchaser.5.3 Crushed Pieces in AggregateOrders for material

Where laboratorytests or service records indicate this to be true, such angular particles maybe consi

Test Method D 3319 has been found useful in evaluating therelative polish resistance between samples of different aggregates ormixtures containing different aggregates.5.5 SoundnessThe coarse agg

If the salt is notdesignated by the purchaser, the aggregate shall be consideredto be in compliance with this sp

27、of 5.5 or5.6 may be considered for use provided that (1) similar aggregates fromthe same source have been shown by experience, to the satisfaction of thepurchaser, to result in satisfactory pavement and (2) the results of othertests indicate that the desired performance can be obtained. Aggregatefro
