Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers requirements and methods oftest for the material, dimensions, and

3、workmanship of ex-truded, compression molded, and injection molded parts manu-factured from PAI.1.2 The properties included in this specification are thoserequired for the compositions covered. Requirements neces-sary to identify particular characteristics important to special-ized applications are

4、described by the classification systemgiven in Section 5.1.3 This specification allows for the use of recycled mate-rials provided that specification requirements based upon thisspecification are met.1.4 The values stated in inch pound units are to be regardedas standard in all property and dimensio

Classification and Material5.1 Product shape and size as defined in the applicablepurchase order.5.2 This specification covers product manufactured as listedin Table S-PAI. Products included in the designations referenceClassification

17、 System D 5204 callouts where applicable.5.2.1 The PAI material used in the product is normallycategorized by type, grade, and class depending on resin andfiller compositions as defined in Table S-PAI.5.3 The type, class, and grade are further differentiatedbased on Table S-PAI, Table A, and dimensi

18、onal requirements,Table I.5.4 Property Tables:5.4.1 Table S-PAI is be used to describe manufactured parts.5.4.2 Table I is also be used to describe products notincluded in Table S-PAI via a cell callout that includes theapplicable Table A type and specific properties.5.4.3 To facilitate the incorpor

19、ation of future or specialmaterials not covered by the Table S-PAI, the “other” category(00) for type, class and grade is shown on the table with thebasic properties to be obtained from Table I, as they apply.5.4.4 Reinforcements and Additive MaterialsA symbol(single letter) is to be used for the ma

20、jor reinforcement orcombination, or both, along with two numbers which indicatethe percentage of addition by mass with the tolerances astabulated below. 24、 how a one-line, alphanu-meric sequence can identify the product composition, commer-cial parameters, and physical characteristics of extruded orinjection molded product. A space must be used as a separatorbetween the specification number and the type designation. Noseparators are needed between typ

25、e, class, and grade. Whenspecial notes are to be included, such information shall bepreceded by a comma. 35、in.6. Physical Property Requirements6.1 The physical property values listed within this specifi-cations tables are to be considered minimum specificationvalues. Any requirement for specific test data for a givenproduction lot shall be specified at the time of order. Physicalproperties for products n

36、ot included in Table S-PAI shall bespecified using Table I for extruded and injection moldedproducts.7. Dimensional Requirements7.1 The type, class, and grade is further differentiated by theuse of Table S-PAI, and dimensional requirements, Tables Aand B. Products shall be produced within commercial

37、 toler-ances and with the lowest stress levels for machined parts asdelineated in Tables I and II for extruded or injection moldedproducts. The manner in which the tolerances are obtained isnot relevant.7.2 Tubular bar dimensions shall be supplied in the unfin-ished condition, unless otherwise speci

38、fied at the time of order.7.3 The maximum allowable camber, or bow, or both, shallbe within the limits referenced in Tables A and B.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 AppearanceThe appearance of products shall be aspublished by the shapes manufacturer.8.2 FinishAll products shall be free of b

39、listers, wrinkles,cracks, gouges, and defects that restrict commercial use of theproduct. Special surface finish shall be supplied only whenspecified in the purchase order or contract.8.3 DefectsAll products shall be free of voids, dirt,foreign material, and embedded particles exceeding132-in.0.8-mm

40、 maximum diameter as defined below.8.3.1 The criteria for determining the internal cleanlinessshall be external visual inspection. A maximum number of twointernal defects per square foot of plate or sheet and one footlength of rod or tubular bar. Clusters of defects less than132-in.0.8-mm diameter a

41、re to be counted as a single defect.9. Sampling9.1 Sampling shall be statistically adequate to satisfy therequirements of this specification as applicable.9.2 For purposes of sampling, an inspection lot for exami-nation and tests shall consist of all material of the same type,class, and grade and no

42、minal size submitted for inspection atone time.10. Number of Tests10.1 Routine lot inspection shall consist of all the criteriaspecified in the applicable product tables.10.2 The criteria listed in these product tables and defini-tions are sufficient to establish conformity of the shape to thisspeci

43、fication. When the number of test specimens is not statedin the test method, a single determination is sufficient. If morethan a single determination is made, the results shall beaveraged. The final result shall conform to the requirementsprescribed in this specification.11. Test Conditions11.1 Cond

44、itioning of SpecimensThe specification valuesand dimensions are based on conditioning techniques outlinedin Procedure A of Practice D 618.11.2 Standard ConditionsThe tests shall be conducted atthe standard laboratory conditions of 73.4 6 3.6F 23 6 2Cand 50 6 5 % RH.D729206412.
