1、Designation: E 1008 03Standard Practice forInstallation, Inspection, and Maintenance of Valve-bodyPressure-relief Methods for Geothermal and Other High-Temperature Liquid Applications1This standard is issued under the fixed designation E 1008; the number immediately following the designation indicat

2、es the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This practice covers installation, inspectio

3、n, and main-tenance of valve body cavity pressure relief methods for valvesused in geothermal and other high-temperature liquid service. The valve type covered by this practice is a design with anisolated body cavity such that when the valve is in either theopen or closed position pressure is trapped

4、 in the isolatedcavity, and there is no provision to relieve the excess pressureinternally.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practi

Installation4.1 Any valve conforming to the description in 1 of thispractice shall have a body cavity pressure relief deviceinstalled in a manner to relieve excessive pressure from thebody cavity. The relief pressu

8、removed, cleaned, inspected, and rein-stalled without endangering the operating personnel or remov-ing the valve from its functional application.4.2.1 The relief device may be mounted with an automaticshutoff, such as a check valve held in the open position by therelief device. An example of such an

Cold-Weather Considerations5.1 Temperatures below freezing are considered due to iceformation within the body cavity and the associated expansion.5.2 The recommended procedures for winterizing (for ex-ample, for temp

Inspection6.1 The pressure relief device shall be kept clean to ensureproper operation.6.2 The relief device shall be removed, inspected, thencleaned, repaired, or replaced, and reinstalled on a scheduledetermined by the respective application. The recommendedins
