Material and Annealing4.1 Flasks shall be made of borosilicate glass conforming tothe requirements of Type I, Class A of Specification E438.4.2 Maximum residual thermal stress shall conform toSpecification E671.5. Appearance5.1 The general appearance of the flasks shall conform toFig.
12、1.6. Design6.1 Necks on all flasks shall be circular in cross sections,and center necks shall be perpendicular to center of flask body.6.2 Top shall be strengthened and finished. Top finishesshall be either beaded, tooled or standard taper. (The lattercomplies with Specification E676.)6.3 Wall thick
13、ness minimums are shown in Table 1.6.4 The flasks shall be spherical in shape to the point ofjunction with the flask necks.7. Capacity and Dimensions7.1 The nominal capacity of a flask shall not exceed theactual capacity to the base of the neck. Dimensions shallconform to the requirements of Table 1
14、.8. Markings8.1 Each flask shall be permanently marked with the nameor known trademark of the manufacturer and the nominalcapacity. If applicable, the standard taper joint size shall bemarked on each flask.8.2 There shall be an area on one side of the flask formarking with a pencil.9. Sampling9.1 Re
