2、 original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department

Scope1.1 This practice covers acoustical ceiling suspension sys-tems and their additional requirements for application in areassubject to light to moderate seismic disturbance such asUniform Building Code Seismic Zone 2, the BOCA BasicNational Building Code where Avis less than 0.20 b

This practice also coversareas subject to moderate to severe seismic disturbance such asUniform Building Code Seismic Zones 3 and 4, the BOCABasic National Building Code where Avis greater than

They remain applicable and should befollowed when this practice is specified.1.3 This practice is not intended to stifle research anddeve

It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.6 The valu

The values stated in each system are not exactequivalents; therefore, each system must be used indepen-dently of the other. Combining values from the two systemsmay result in

This wire does not need to be vertical but should nothave a slope greater than one in six out of plumb. A38-in. 10mm grid end clearance fro

All ceiling penetra-tions (columns, sprinklers, etc.) and independently supportedfixtures or services are to be considered as perimeter closuresthat also must allow the noted clearances by using suitableescutcheons or closure details.3.2.6 For essential facilities, perimeter support
