Test Methods8.1 Test all strainers by one of the following methods:8.1.1 Conduct a hydrostatic test at 112 times the 100F(37C) rated MAWPof the strainer. Perform
39、the test with wateror other liquid having a maximum viscosity of 40 SSU at125F (52C) with a maximum pressure test temperature of125F. The minimum duration of the test shall be 15 s forstrainers less than 2-in. (50-mm) nominal pipe size (NPS), 1min for strainers 212 through 8 in. (63 through 203 mm),
40、 and3 min for larger sizes. The purpose of this test is to detect leaksand structural imperfections. No visible leakage is permitted.8.1.2 Strainers 2-in. (50-mm) NPS and smaller with otherthan flanged connections may, at the option of the manufac-turer, be air tested to the lesser of 1.2 times the
41、MAWP or 80psig (0.55 MPa). The minimum duration of the test shall be 15s. Visually detectable leakage is not acceptable.8.1.2.1 If this option is exercised, the manufacturer shall beable to certify that a prototype of the same size strainer wassubjected to a hydrostatic test in accordance with 8.1.1
42、.9. Certification9.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, themanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserstating that samples representing each lot have been manufac-tured, tested, and inspected in accordance with this specifica-tion and the requirements have been met

Product Marking10.1 Each strainer shall have a securely attached name plateor other permanent marking indicating:10.1.1 Manufacturers name or trademark.10.1.2 Maximum allowable working pressure.10.1
