3、nent material used in the fashion-ing of archery bowstrings.1.2 These test methods are not intended to provide informa-tion beyond any evaluation of the serving string material thatwould determine its fitness for use other than in the fabricationof the completed bowstring.1.3 This standard does not

4、purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2. Significance and Use4.1 These test methods are intended to provide basic infor-mation for evaluation and procurement for the user of servingstring materials for bowstrings.4.2 These test methods are not meant to be all inclusivesince special circumstances may occur that dictate the use ofnonc

10、onforming procedures for evaluation. These special cir-cumstances and the requirements they establish cannot betotally anticipated and therefore must be considered on anindividual basis.5. Test Methods5.1 Refer to Practice D 1776 for standard condition require-ments.5.1.1 Standard Conditions70 6 2F

11、(21 6 1C), 65 62 % relative humidity.5.2 Refer to Test Method D 2256 for strength and elonga-tion requirements.5.2.1 Set CRE-type testing machine at 12 6 0.5-in. (305 610-mm)/min draw rate with gage length as follows:5.2.1.1 10 6 0.1 in. (250 6 3 mm) from nip for pneumaticflat-faced clamps, or5.2.1.

(125 6 3-mm) free gage length forcapstan-type clamps.5.2.1.3 Report test results as the average of five test speci-mens per sample and the average of three test samples.5.2.2 Elongation tests using capstan clamps are measured at80 % of test specimen average breaking load using 100-mmin

13、dex marks arbitrarily marked along the 5-in. free gage lengthdue to possible stretching of the test specimen around thecapstans. Arbitrarily mark 100-mm index marks along the 5-in.free gage length of the mounted test specimen, and measure thechange in length of index marks after applying load to the
