、Designation: F2032 15 An American National StandardStandard Specification forHelmets Used for BMX Cycling1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F2032; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last r
、evision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers performance requirements forhelmets used in BMX cycling. Studies have shown higher riskto the head
、 and face for this sport as compared to recreationalstreet riding; therefore, this specification requires impact pro-tection over a larger area of the head than Specification F1447and the CPSC standard. This specification also providesperformance criteria for helmets equipped with chin bars.1.2 All
、testing and requirements of this specification shallbe in accordance with Test Methods F1446 except where notedherein.1.3 Partial utilization of this specification is prohibited. Anystatement of compliance with this specification shall be acertification that the headgear with faceguard meets all of
、therequirements of the specification in their entirety. A headgearwith faceguard that fails to meet any one of the requirements ofthis specification is considered to have failed the specification, and shall not be sold with any indication that it meets parts ofthe specification.1.4 Headgear designed
、to comply with this and otherstandards may proclaim uses as certified by the manufacturer.1.5 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of t

、naccordance with Test Methods F1446.5. Conditioning and Number of Samples5.1 Shall be in accordance with Test Methods F1446.5.2 The test requires a minimum of four samples of eachshell/liner combination, with a fifth sample required for fullface helmets with a chin bar.6. Retention System Testing6.1
、 Retention system tests shall be performed before impacttesting.6.2 The ambient helmet shall be subjected to the Roll-OffTest of Test Methods F1446 usinga4kgdrop mass from aheight of 0.6 m.6.3 The retention system shall remain intact and the helmetshall remain on the headform.6.4 The hot, cold, and
、wet helmets shall be subjected to theDynamic Strength Retention Test of Test Methods F1446 usinga 4 kg drop mass from a height of 0.6 m.6.5 The retention system shall remain intact without elon-gating more than 30 mm.7. Impact Sites and Projections7.1 Impact sites are described in Test Methods F1446
、.7.2 ProjectionsAny unfaired projection extending morethan 7 mm from the helmets outer surface shall break away orcollapse when impacted with forces equivalent to those pro-duced by applicable impact-attenuation tests in Section 5.There shall be no fixture on the helmets inner surface1This specifica
