5、et resilient flooring are sealed toprevent openings from forming between cut edges and preventpenetrations of dirt, liquids, etc., into the seams.5. Instructions5.1 Flooring shall be installed in accordance with themanufacturers instructions.5.2 Particular attention shall be paid to proper cutting o
6、f theseams so that there are no gaps or overlaps.5.3 In making up the seam, care shall be taken to preventany flooring adhesive used to bond the floor covering to thesubstrate from getting between the cut edges of seam. It isalmost impossible to remove such adhesive, and the seamsealer will not bond
7、 properly in those areas and may result indiscoloration.5.4 The proper seam sealer and applicator as recommendedby the resilient flooring manufacturer shall be used. Follow theresilient flooring manufacturers instructions as to the methodof application for the specific product being installed.5.5 Tw
8、o-part seam sealers, mixed at a specific ratio per themanufacturers directions, should be used for a single instal-lation, with any remaining unused sealer properly disposed of.5.6 It is important for performance reasons of bonding,adhesion strength, etc., that chemical sealers be appropriatelymatch
9、ed to the flooring products they are used to seam. Referto the manufacturers recommendations.6. Hazards6.1 Most of the seam sealers contain solvents that areflammable, and all cautions on the label shall be observed.6.2 Protect the sealed seam from dirt and traffic for theperiod specified by the flo
10、oring manufacturer to preventdiscoloration.7.
