3、ements for fabri-cated fittings intended for use with outside-diameter controlledpolyethylene pipe and tubing. These fittings are manufacturedby heat-fusion joining shape-modified polyethylene compo-nents prepared from pipe, molded fittings, sheet, or block.Included are requirements for materials, d
4、esign, workmanship,minimum dimensions, marking, test methods, and qualitycontrol.1.2 Pressure rating of the fabricated-fitting design is beyondthe scope of this standard and shall be established by the fittingmanufacturer. This specification includes requirements for bothelevated temperature pressur
5、e-tests and short-term pressuriza-tion tests to demonstrate a reasonable level of performance ofthe fabricated-fitting design at the pressure rating establishedby the fitting manufacturer.1.3 The pressure-tests requirements are specified by thefittingsequivalent (E) DR. The EDR specified is the DR o
6、f thepiping system for which the fabricated fitting is intended to bebutt-fused.1.4 The text of this standard references notes and footnoteswhich provide explanatory material. Classification4.1 GeneralThis specification establishes requirementsfor fabricated fittings intended for butt-fusion joining topolyethylene pipe.4.1.1 Fabricated fitting components may be machined fromextruded polyethylene or molded
20、 polyethylene stock andheat-fused to form the final part.4.1.2 Fabricated fittings intended for use in the distributionof natural gas or other fuel gases shall also meet the require-ments of Specification D2513.5. Ordering Information5.1 When ordering fittings under this specification includethe fol

23、ementsof Specification F714, D3035, F2619/F2619M or D2513.6.1.2 Molded PE fittings used in the production of fabri-cated fittings in accordance with this specification shall meetthe requirements of Specification D3261.6.1.3 Flange adaptors used in the production of fabricatedfittings in accordance w
24、ith this specification shall meet therequirements of Specification F2880.6.1.4 Sheet, block or plate stock used in the production offabricated fittings shall be produced from stress-rated polyeth-ylene compounds listed in PPIs TR-4.NOTE 1Manufacturers should use appropriate quality assurance pro-ced

Requirements7.1 Dimension and TolerancesButt-fusion ends shall beproduced from fittings or pipe conforming to SpecificationD3261, or by machining block, sheet, plate
26、, or pipe to therequired dimensions.7.1.1 DiameterNominal outside-diameter of the butt-fusion end shall conform to the IPS or DIPS dimension at areaof fusion. Outer-diameter dimensions and tolerances at the areaof fusion shall be as shown in Table 1 or Table 2.7.1.2 Wall ThicknessThe minimum wall th
27、ickness of thebutt-fusion end shall be in accordance with Table 1 or Table 2when measured in accordance with Test Method D2122.Conditioning to standard temperature but not to standardhumidity is required.7.1.3 EccentricityThe wall thickness variability of thebutt-fusion end as measured and calculate
28、d in accordance withTest Method D2122, in any diametrical cross-section of thepipe shall not exceed 12 %.7.1.4 MeasurementsThese shall be made in accordancewith Test Method D2122 for roundable pipe.7.1.5 Laying LengthsLaying length dimensions shall bedefined by the manufacturer.7.1.6 Special SizesWh
29、ere existing system conditions orspecial local requirements make other diameters or dimensionratios necessary, other sizes or dimension ratios, or both, shallbe acceptable for engineered applications when mutuallyagreed upon by the customer and the manufacturer, if the fittingis manufactured from pl
30、astic compounds meeting the materialrequirements of this specification, and the fitting performs inaccordance with the requirements in this specification. Fordiameters not shown in Table 1 or Table 2, the tolerance shallbe the same percentage as that shown in the correspondingtables for the next sma
31、ller listed size. Minimum wall thicknessat the butt-fusion end for these special sizes shall not be lessthan the minimum wall thickness specified for the pipe thefitting is designed to be used with.7.2 Physical RequirementsFabricated fittings using mitercut pipe stock shall be manufactured from pipe
32、 stock with awall thickness that is at least 22% greater than that of the pipeto which the fitting is to be joined. (For example: An EDR11fitting shall be made using DR9 pipe stock.)7.3 Pressure Test RequirementsDesign validation tests per7.3.1 and 7.3.2 shall be conducted on “test samples” that are
33、representative of:Each of three (3) size groupings - 12 in. (300 mm) and smaller,greater than 12 to less than 24 in. (300 to less than 600 mm), and24 in. (600 mm) and larger.Each style of fitting (for example, 4 segment 90 Elbow, StraightTee, etc.).A single EDR sample shall be considered as represen
34、tativeof all of the wall thickness produced in that size and stylegrouping. The EDR of the test fitting(s) shall be in the midrange of the wall thickness typically produced for that sizegrouping. Fitting styles are characterized as elbows, tees, wyes,crosses, reducing tees, reducing laterals, branch
35、 saddles, me-chanical joint adapters, and end caps.F2206 1127.3.1 Elevated Temperature Sustained Pressure TestThe“test sample” shall be three specimens. Each specimen shallhave a minimum distance of three pipe diameters between endclosure(s) and any miter joints in the fitting(s).7.3.2 Short-term Pr
36、essurization TestingQuick Burst ofNon-Failure testing shall be conducted. The “test sample” shallbe five specimens. Each specimen shall have a minimumdistance of three pipe diameters between end closure(s) andany miter joints in the fittings(s).8. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 The manufactur
37、e of these fittings shall be in accordancewith good commercial practice so as to produce fittingsmeeting the requirements of this specification. Fittings shall behomogeneous throughout and free of cracks, holes, foreigninclusions or other injurious defects. The fittings shall be asuniform as commerc
38、ially practicable in color, opacity, density,and other physical properties.8.2 The procedure used for the heat fusion in the fabricationprocess shall be written and qualified in accordance with therequirements of OPS 49 CFR Part 192.283 “Plastic Pipe:Qualifying Joining Procedures.”8.3 All personnel
39、engaged in the heat fusion process shall bequalified in accordance with the requirements of OPS 49 CFRPart 192.285 “Plastic Pipe: Qualifying Persons to MakeJoints.”9. Test Methods9.1 GeneralThe test methods in this specification apply tofittings for use with pipe and tubing for gas, water, and other
