Scope1.1 This specification establishes requirements and charac-teristics

3、 of airsoft gun projectiles which help define whether anairsoft gun is suitable for use in the sport commonly calledairsoft, air soft, or soft air. Furthermore, the specificationestablishes minimum warning and package labeling to helpensure that the low energy airgun projectiles are used in a safema

4、nner and that the risk of injury is reduced.1.2 LimitationsThis specification does not cover the fol-lowing categories of projectiles: Projectiles covered by Con-sumer Safety Specification F590 (non-powder gunsprojectiles), Specification F1979 (paintballs), SpecificationF2573, and Specification F257

5、4; liquid filled or metallicprojectiles, toy products, and non-recreational projectiles suchas those used by law enforcement, scientific, or militaryagencies.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 airsoft guncommonly referred to as airsoft gun, airsoft gun, or soft air gun, or any combination thereof, or a lowenergy air gun (LEAG), refers to a device specifically design

9、edto expel a projectile as described in this standard, by the releaseof energy by compressed air, compressed gas, mechanicalsprings, battery, or a combination thereof, that complies withSpecification F2654 and Specification F2748.3.1.2 airsoft gun projectileis spherical, of 6 mm (.24 cal)diameter, n

10、on-metallic and non-liquid filled projectile to beused in an airsoft gun.3.1.2.1 DiscussionThese are also referred to as airsoftBBs.4. General Requirements4.1 Size (Diameter of Airsoft Gun Projectile)The diameterof the airsoft gun projectile labeled 6 mm shall measurebetween 5.8 mm (0.228 in.) and 6

11、.0 mm (0.236 in.), asmeasured at two perpendicular axes.4.2 WeightThe airsoft gun projectiles shall weigh within+5 % and 10 % of the indicated weight. Example theprojectile labeled 0.12 g shall weigh between 0.108 and 0.126g.5. Product Packaging5.1 General InstructionsThe size of the print forwarnin

12、gs, instructions and manufacturers information shall beof a type size of at least 8 points. The letters in the word“WARNING” shall be at least 50 % larger than the letters in theother words in the cautionary statement.5.2 Warning InformationA cautionary statement on pack-aging of all airsoft gun pro

18、les.5.3.2 The caliber of the airsoft gun projectiles expressed inmillimetres and the weight of the airsoft gun projectilesexpressed in grams.5.3.3 Instructions to the effect that the airsoft gun projectilesare intended only for use in airsoft guns, and that users shouldfollow all safety rules.6.
