1、Designation: F 2710 08Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification forCommercial Cribs1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F 2710; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A n

2、umber in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.INTRODUCTIONThis consumer safety performance specification addresses incidents identified by the U.S.Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) which

3、 involved infant cribs used in commercial usessuch as the hospitality and day care industries. In response to incident data compiled by CPSC, and in recognition of the more intense use that cribswhich are used for commercial purposes encounter, this consumer safety performance specificationattempts t

20、tested in accordance with the test described in 6.1.5.4 Wheel Threshold and DurabilityThis test is only forcribs with wheels or casters. The crib casters/wheels of the cribshall not penetrate the gap more than18 in. when tested inaccordance with Test A in 6.2.5.4.1 After completion of the cyclic tes

Test Methods6.1 Crib Static LoadA crib interior shall be loaded with

25、atotal load applied vertically without shock, and the total loadshall remain for 5 min. For the purpose of applying the load, the crib interior or mattress support area shall be divided intofour equal area quadrants. The total load shall be located inequal portions, in the center of each quadrant and

26、 at the centerpoint of the mattress support area, a total of 5 points.6.1.1 For this test, loads shall be placed on load distributionblocks. Each block shall be 6 by 6 by34 in. (15.2 by 15.2 by2 cm) and made of wood.6.1.2 The total load shall be the sum of the following:6.1.2.1 Based on the area of

The

30、 planes shall be securelyspaced so that there is a gap between them 1-14 in. (3.2 cm)wide between their edges. The gap shall be a minimum of 1 in.(2.5 cm) deep. The edge radius of the planes shall be amaximum of116 in. (1.6 mm).6.2.2 Test ASlowly roll the crib across the gap allowingthe wheel/caster

Using appropriate measurement devices measure thepenetration of the wheel/caster into the gap.6.2.3 Test BCycle the crib across the gap 500 times. Acycle shall consist of all wheels/casters of the crib crossing thegap once (250 times in each dire

Inspect the crib for damage or failure.6.3 Drop Side Dynamic Test:6.3.1 Prevent crib movement during crib side drop test byrestraining the legs of the crib in an appropriate manner at floorlevel.TABLE 1 Structural LoadingAge(Years)50th Percentilelb (kg)95th Percen

37、 Information)X1. RATIONALEX1.1 Paragraph 6.1The platform requirements in Con-sumer Safety Performance Specification F 1148 home play-ground provides a method for calculating the area of a platformto be tested and the application method of the test loads. Thismethod was used for the maximum static lo

The method thus takes into consideration overand undersized non-full sized cribs as well a full sized cribs. This section reproduces the Consumer Safety PerformanceSpecification F 1148 section on platforms with

This evaluation provides the worst case situationfor the absolute maximum number of children in the crib.X1.2 Paragraph 7.2Many of the assemblers
