2、evision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification provides the minimum requirementsfor a Pilots Operating Handbook (POH) for an aircraftdesigned, manufactu

3、red, and operated as a light sport aircraft.1.2 This specification defines the POH information thatshall be provided by the aircraft manufacturer of a new airplaneor airplane kit as a part of the initial sale or transfer to the first-end user.NOTE 1The POH may also be referred to as an Aircraft Oper

4、atingInstruction (AOI). However, POH is considered the approved nomencla-ture.1.3 This specification applies to an airplane seeking civilaviation authority approval, in the form of flight certificates,flight permits, or other like documentation as a light sportaircraft.1.4 This standard does not pur

5、port to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2. Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.2 flight training supp

7、lement (FTS), nadditional infor-mation provided by the airplane manufacturer to provideinstruction in special or unusual pilot operation not covered innormal flight training.3.3 original equipment manufacturer (OEM), ncompanythat controls the engineering and design rights for (1) the LSAor an assemb

8、ly, subassembly, accessory, or part installed in theaircraft; (2) the consumable materials, tools, fixtures, and testequipment used to service or maintain the aircraft.3.4 Acronyms:3.4.1 IASindicated airspeed3.4.2 POHpilots operating handbook4. General Requirements4.1 The POH provides information on

9、 the following areasfor a specific model of aircraft:4.1.1 Operating procedures and limitations.4.1.2 Performance.4.1.3 Installed controls, indicators, equipment, and accesso-ries. This information shall be included through one of thefollowing methods:4.1.3.1 Detailing the information, including com

10、ponentOEM data, within the POH supplements.4.1.3.2 Referencing separate component OEM providedinstructions or manuals.4.1.3.3 Any combination of 4.1.3.1 and 4.1.3.2.4.2 The POH technical content shall be consistent with thedata developed in accordance with Specification F 2245.4.3 The POH shall be d

14、o the owner of recordin accordance with the continued airworthiness requirements ofPractice F 2295 and the quality assurance requirements ofPractice F 2279.4.7 The POH shall present a consistent style, format, andappearance.4.8 All measurements shall be consistent with the equip-ment and instrumenta

15、tion installed in the aircraft.4.9 Flight speeds shall be presented as indicated airspeed(IAS).5.
