It is
17、intended to serve as a guide to allother standards required by a user for the implementation of an AAL for the purposeof signaling.The ATM Adaptation layer (AAL) is defined as enhancing the services provided bythe ATM layer to support the functions required by the next higher layer. DifferentAALs su
18、pport various protocols to suit the different needs of a range of AAL serviceusers. One particular type of AAL service user is the signaling entity wishing to com-municate with a peer entity. The SAAL comprises AAL functions necessary to sup-port such a signaling entity. The current revision of this
19、 standard was made to indicate that the American NationalStandard for the overview description of the B-ISDN signaling ATM adaptation layershall be ITU-T Recommendation Q.2100, B-ISDN Signalling ATM Adaptation Layer -Overview Description.Suggestions for improvement of this standard are welcome.
