Specimenpreparation methods, brazing procedures, testing techniques, and methods for data analysis are detailed. Sampl

8、 that have been developed in accordance with the rules of theAmerican National Standards Institute (ANSI). When AWS American National Standards are either incorporated in, ormade part of, documents that are included in federal or state laws and regulations, or the regulations of other govern-mental

In such cases, any changes in those AWSstandards must be approved by the governmental body having statutory jurisdiction before they can become a part ofthose laws and regulations. Alexy The Prince thus, it is imperative that the specimen geometry used for measuring the strength of brazed joints be standardizedand that all strength data be obtained using standard specimens.Test specimens have been included to provide additional design data for

26、butt brazed joints, creep strength, stress rupturedata, and four-point bending specimens for testing of brazed ceramics and similar low-ductility materials. New to thisedition are a series of subclauses addressing ceramic tensile button strength testing. These new subclauses include a dis-cussion of

27、 the preparation of tensile button test specimens, brazing procedures, leak checking, and mechanical testing.Comments and suggestions for the improvement of this standard are welcome. ScopeThe purpose of this standard is to describe the test meth-ods used to obtain reliable data on the strength of metal-to-metal

40、, metal-to-nonmetal, and nonmetal-to-nonmetalbrazed joints. Test specimens should be prepared usingconsistent and proper fabrication and brazing practices.Interpretation of the test results is the responsibility ofthe user.It is important that the user of these tests maintain suffi-cient documentati

41、on of the materials, brazing parame-ters, and test conditions. This documentation will berequired when comparing the results with the jointstrengths obtained by others using this standard method.General use of this standard method may permit a compi-lation of brazed joint strengths and brazing desig
