7、f ANSI/BHMA A156.26) The general classification of builders hardware includes a wide variety of items which are divided into several categories. To recognize this diversity, a sectional classification system has been established. Continuous Hinges is one such section and this Standard is a result of
8、 the collective efforts of members of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association, Inc. who manufacture these products. The total Product Standards effort is, therefore, a collection of sections, each covering a specific category of items. Performance tests and, where necessary, dimensional requ
9、irements have been established to insure a degree of safety and stability. There are no restrictions on design except for those dimensional requirements imposed. This Standard is not intended to obstruct but rather to encourage the development of improved products, methods and materials. The BHMA re
10、cognizes that errors will be found, items will become obsolete, and new products, methods and materials will be developed. With this in mind, the Association plans to update, correct and revise these Standards on a regular basis. It shall also be the responsibility of manufacturers to request such a

22、y The amount of axial movement along the pin between the leaves. B-3 Knuckle Length The nominal dimension of the knuckle measured parallel to the pin. B-4 Paint Clearance The minimum dimension between the outer face of the knuckle and the opposing edge of the leaf cutout over the entire range of the
23、 pivotal movement of the hinge. B-5 Pin Retention The manner in which the pin is retained in the hinge including being spun, staked, or welded. B-6 Side Play The amount of movement of the leaves perpendicular to the pin. B-7 Width The overall dimension of the leaves measured perpendicular to the pin
